Upcoming Games of the Week:

#2 Victorious Secret vs #3 Yorick -
Victorious has won the last 2 meetings of these two teams (which happened the last 2 ladder games). After this...these two will have squared off 4 of the last 5 ladder matches.

Their last meeting was a blowout win by VS 41-13. Their previous win was a close one 35-28. Yorick had won the other two 16-10 and 23-17. Will Victorious' offense continue to get stronger game by game? For me - the trend says "YES".

I predict: Victorious wins 45-17

#4 D'Haran Empire vs #5 Nebraska Cornhuskers
This will be the 6th time these two teams have faced in the ladder this summer. The past games were:
Empire wins 13-7
Neb wins 20-14
Neb wins 28-14
Neb wins 44-38
Empire wins 21-7
Nebraska has brought in a new superstar running back to bolster their already strong running game. Will the chemistry hit be too much at this point in the season? I don't think so.

I predict: Nebraska wins 24-13

Other Games:

#117 Minnesota Stunners vs #121 Pain Nation Midgets
Very tough matchup for the Stunners - a team with a seasons worth of extra skill points...and a thinking, game planning, scouting, coach = a very difficult game.
I Predict: Pain Nation Wins 17-6

#6 Tampa Bay Tusken Raiders vs #12 Nigerian Minimares
Tampa Bay with a chance to avenge their June 4th loss. Both teams are struggling in the ladder this season at 5-6.
I predict: Tampa Bay wins 17-10

#7 Rhode Island Falcons vs #10 Rare Breed Rookies
These teams haven't played yet this season that I can see in a real game. Two strong passing attacks. Two will enter - only one will leave...
I predict Rhode Island wins 24-20

#8 Alpine vs #15 Eastern European Alliance -
This will be Alpines 6th ladder game against a team from Adams this season. So far they are 3-2. After this they will be 3-3.
I predict EEA upsets Alpine 28-21

#9 Drinkin Hellraisers vs #13 Dryden Blue Balls
I predict Dryden wins 14-7

#10 Baby Banger vs #14 Compton Con Men
Baby Banger owner is inactive (in prison for the pedophilia?)
I predict: Compton wins 21-10

Then we could add TxSteve to the list of people who want defenses to actually be able to cover out routes...

Or maybe, unlike you, he could stop the pass.

Amen. I pay just enough attention to have an idea of who's who, but not enough to have an idea of what they do or how they stack up. Nice to see the sophomores get a thread.

Keep it up, Tx.

I stand corrected - Yorick answers the VS passing attack with a very strong running performance.

And as a result - Yorick leaps VS -- swapping spots from #3 to #2.

So - Yorick vs VS part 6 next week?

Aye. Good game.

The only real negative from my point of view is that that represented yet another attempt at stopping a passing team that pretty much failed, and it wasn't even 4 WR Unders that shot holes in my coverage.

Back to the drawing board, although having now tried 2 Man Under, Zone, Blitz, and Man, I'm not really sure what's left...

For my own curiosity: What would you consider a successful defense performance? Do you go by points? yards? completion %?

Xav could care less that the per play statistics aren't really all that out of whack from reality. Anything over 400 yards is a travesty, nevermind that it takes 80 plays to do it.
