The Boogie Men have been kicking ass and taking names in their last 5 games. The point differential is ridiculous and they have earned their way to the #1 spot. What is their reward? A journeyman team. This is really messed up. Run GLB held down the #1 spot for quite a while and they didn't lose that spot until a rookie team took them down. It's kind of ridiculous that the The Boogie Men will probably lose that spot due to facing a team that is 3 tiers higher. Maybe they can cheese their way to some points and defy the odds, but I don't see it happening. The Boogie Men lose 14-35
#2 Run GLB vs #4 Doinitin Djibouti 2.0
Run GLB made a tactical mistake in their last league game and fell to #2 in the rookie rankings. Nonetheless they have proven themselves to be a very strong team offensively and defensively. I fully expect them to bring their "A" game in this one. The challenger is DD 2.0, who sport one of the best defenses across all rookie leagues. They have proven that they can stop any kind of attack you send their way. It's a classic battle of one of the best offenses going against one of the best defenses. I pick defense. DD2.0 wins 13-7
#3 Syndicate Bayou Bengals vs #7 I've Never Had Sex
Syndicate seems to have hit their stride as they are riding a 7 game winning streak and continue to rise to the top of the ladder. They sport a strong running game and a suffocating defense that has not allowed more than 7 points during their winning streak. They will get to face the Virgins, who are fresh off of taking down the #1 team in rookie. The Virgins are a streaky team, they won 9 in a row, then lost 2 in a row, then followed that up by beating 2 top teams in a row. It's hard to figure these guys out, but you can never take them lightly, because they have proven that they can beat anyone. This is a really tough one to call, but I am going to pick Syndicate in a close one. Syndicate Bayou Bengals win 17-14

Convicted took a tough loss to Run GLB in their last ladder game after the wrong playbook was used, but they took that out on their league opponent by throttling them 45-0. Convicted brings in an offense that favors the run, but unlike most running teams at this level they have also shown the ability to pass the ball effectively. I still think the strength of the team lies in their defense which has more shutouts than it has games with points allowed. The New Jersey Surge got blown out in their last ladder game, but won their league game to stay in the top 10. They have a quality team, but they will need a lot to go right in this game to pick up the win. I can see the morale death spiral taking this from a normal win to a blowout. Convicted wins 34-7
#6 Men Who Herd Cats vs #11 Denver Nightmares
This will be a fun matchup of 2 passing teams trying to air it out against each other. After climbing almost to the very top of the rookie ladder, the Cat Herders have lost 3 of their last 4 ladder games. The Denver Nightmares are a team I am quite familiar with. They started off the season kind of rough, but have won 7 of their last 8 games and are right on the fringe of the top 10. This will be a big test for them. Here's an interesting stat about the Cat Herders: When they score more than 3 points they are 14-0. I'm banking on them scoring more than 3. Men Who Herd Cats win 24-10

Torchwood is riding an 8 game winning streak and now that streak is in jeopardy due to them getting a tough draw. The journeyman team they are facing has already taken down rookie teams 4 times this season. The closest any of those rookie teams got was 47 points. Torchwood will be another victim of a flawed system. Torchwood loses 51-7

Dublin and their potent passing attack is fresh off of kicking my teams ass. They have picked up a lot of quality victories this season. After losing their previous 2 ladder games the New York Gangsters still find themselves against a top 10 opponent. They have a lot of victories, but none of them have came against a team as good as Dublin. Dublin wins 27-7
