On the Sophomore team that I run, we have a Superstar OT with Slow Built as one of his traits. I can't see his build, and I've not run a team with S* players before, so I'm not sure how the math works. The player is, to put it gently, atrocious. He's getting pancaked three times as often as he gets a pancake, he gives us more sacks and hurries than our other OT, even with Pass Blocker as his third trait, and he's about as effective in the running game as a blocking sled.

Is this just something that is inevitable with a S* with Slow Built, or should I assume this is a terrible build? This guy is taking up a lot of my cap space and, almost two seasons in, might be the worst player on the roster.

(Yes, it is ridiculous that I can't see the builds on players on a team where I'm in charge of everything from game plans to recruiting. He was signed before I got involved with the team, and there's nothing I can do about it at the moment. I'm just trying to figure out if he's worth keeping for a third year.)

It's definitely nothing to do with the Slowbuilt stacked on the superstar, although that was a dumb move.

build is bad if he is not performing.

I would ask him to open his build for you. If he doesn't respond, then I would cut him after the season is over. If the agent is unwilling to do a simple task to help his owner/coach out, then you are likely better off without him.

There is really no reason to put Slow built on a superstar, except maybe a rushing QB (like me) to get their atrocious running caps to an acceptable level

Thanks for the information. He has two superstars on our team, won't unlock either build, and stacked Slow Built on both of them. The other one is an OK player, but nothing special.

No that's not a good reason either.

Id send him packing at the end of the season if builds are still closed.

I'd send the first one away in a heartbeat. If the second one is not performing like a superstar why would you pay him like one. In that situation I may actually cut both. Especially since the agent won't open builds.

not opinion, if you were here in s1 you could have seen the math of Superstars with EB and SB worked out.

Too bad you missed it and now you are making uninformed players.

Frak waiting. If he won't open his build, cut him as soon as you line up his replacement.

Superstar or not, if you're not building to fit how I'm going to use you on me team, I don't want you, and if I can't see your build, I have no idea if you fit or not and am not going to deal with that headache.

Agreed, putting together a good team is hard enough without having to do it when you don't even know what skills the player you're dealing with has. The fact that the guy won't even respond to you or open the builds up (which takes a few seconds to do) speaks volumes.

adding slow built to a Superstar isn't always a dumb move, but on OT it is mainly since it's quite easy getting the caps high and you probally wont get to reach those +10 max anyway heck i even took early bloomer on my Superstar OT and he got no problem getting to his caps, i'm even unsure where to spend one of the cap boosters

but if he's not performing he's probally either a bad build or a wrong build fitting to your scheme i agree in what Xav said only when the Superstar isn't performing though
