You mentioned in the other thread you met with Bortimus yesterday and were intending to (possibly) get his take on some of the issues/bugs/etc in the game right now.

Any chance you would post some kind of brief update?

(please keep the angry mobbing to a minimum here at least until after Corndog posts..if he does!)

Basically just reiterating the fact that nobody has compiled a list of why "end of second quarter play calling is the worst thing ever", and it's hard to go around finding various threads that people have various problems with.

I'll put something together after work today, it may not be the worst ever but I've occasionally went into half time with timeouts left in FG range.

Don't forget calling timeouts after 39 seconds because you hit the magical 0:45 barrier.

Maybe put a post up just for it and everyone can just add instances when they occur in their games.

I don't want to be rude...

But shouldn't the folks acting as Bugs and Suggestions Mods be keeping some kind of a "hot issues" post going in the mod forum so that you can catch the highlights without having to read all the garbage?

In addition - I would have thought they could/should be acting as go betweens...copying your comments to the appropriate threads (like AIR did with your comments on the playoff system from the other forum)

There are no suggestions mods anymore. Bugs mods now work off a ticketing systems that does not exist in GLB2. When major, time-sensitive issues come up (the playoff issue last season), I try to find an admin ASAP to ensure it doesn't get overlooked. I (and I assume other mods) don't mind trying to help coordinate some of the efforts if that's what Corndog/Bort want.

Thanks for clarifying AIR - Hope you don't think I was bashing you -- you've always shown you're willing to do whatever and are great with info sharing.

It seems like the system could be better (thats not your responsibility) - and might also benefit Corndog as he wouldn't have to wade through the types of threads he has mentioned he doesn't like wading through (torches / pitchforks and mob mentality stuff)

Why not add a suggestions mod? That is one major complaint over there...and what does it cost? A flex stipend?

I've always hated the idea of the suggestions mods... they latch on to ideas that they like (or would benefit them) and that lets a lot of popular and fantastic ideas just die.

We have the +1 system in place... there should be a way for an admin of mod to look at "top posts" by forum.

If things actually got a hard look if they earned the support of the users, people would be more involved in the support process.

I can see that...

Alternatively - just require the suggestions mods to try to be neutral...and read/summarize any idea/thread that gets to whatever +1 level (25? 15? 50?)

A lot of suggestion threads are living organisms - they morph as the thread grows...a lot of times - reading just the 1st post wouldn't give a true overview of the idea...I would hope someone with that duty could be more like a 'reporter' - here is what was pitched -- here is how it morphed -- it seemed a lot of people generally liked the concept/idea ---- is it worth them fleshing out or not?

I know it isn't simple. I understand that there are lots of problems and issues.

But requiring Corndog to read through everything doesn't seem like a very good system.

It isn't like there is that much activity.

I don't make notes when I read them, but I can tell you off the top of my head that there are three or four broken SAs that need to be examined, countermeasures need to be in place for goal line formation plays, and there is still some really funky stuff relating to WRs getting KLs vs. FFed.

I agree..

But just recent history:

- Corndog says he wasn't aware private scrims weren't working for awhile
- no compilation of situations where the AI screwed teams by punting super late in the 4th
- On an Island?

Right - plus you list good ones off the top of your head (as could I) - but it would appear those aren't making it onto Corndogs radar all the time.
Your list:
- broken SA's (Covg Commander, ? , ? , ?)
- Counter for Goal Line
- Knocked loose / forced fumble issues broken

This wouldn't be so much a "suggestions mod" as an "extra set of eyes for Corndog"

Of course he would know better than anyone if such a scenario would help him or not
