Not a bad start to my Predicting career, going 4-2 with only one game of film to go on, not too shabby.
Pick of the week: Dino's over Grizzlies 24-21. I got this score perfect!
Pick of shame: RCR over Surge 20-10. I was close (one score) away from how many points the Surge would get but I way overestimated RCR's ability to score points.
Last Week 4-2
Overall 4-2
Now onto Week 3:
Capital City Longhorns vs River City Ransom - RCR has not been able to find their "mojo" on offense at all this season. They have an average of ONE POINT PER GAME in ladder and league games combined! While RCR has been stinkin' up the joint on O, there has been only one team in ALPHA DIV who is worse, and that team is CCL. CCL has not scored a single point yet this season. Which of these inept offenses will pull it together this week? Judging by their rosters I would give the edge to RCR due to multiple S* players. Also we are only in week 3 and CCL already has an inactive agent, Im not sure how that agent has managed that? I feel like RCR burned me last week but for some reason I'm going to pick them again... maybe it's because the name River City Ransom takes me back to a time in my childhood where everything seemed much less complicated and where you could pick up a crow bar or a tire (or another person) and throw them across the screen to kill an enemy.... Anyways RCR wins in the lowest scoring game in GLB2 history 7-0.
Woof Woof vs New Jersey Surge - These two are going to duke it out for the ALPHA DIV lead this week. Both won big in week 2, taking advantage of those inept offenses I was just talking about. NJ made me pay last week when I picked against them, while Woof rewarded my faith in them with a win. I think this game will be close with both teams finding the end zone multiple times. Both of these teams struggled in their ladder games, which doesn't help me to separate them at all. Which of these teams will put themselves onto the inside track to win ALPHA? I'm going with Woof Woof in a close game 21-17.
Vandelay Industries vs Mannheim Jaguars - Boy is this going to be a great game! Two well rounded and talented teams here face off with playoff implications on the line, early in week 3. If not for the Bayou Bengals, both of these teams would have perfect records. This will be a battle of strength vs strength as the potent Vandelay passing attack comes to blows with the stifling Jags D! Mannheim has not hit full stride on offense yet scoring only 9 ppg while Vandy is giving up 17 ppg. The longer this game stays close the better chance the Jags have but if Vandy goes up early they are capable of piling on the points. Vandy is going to be in the KRYPTON league championship one day but its tough to pass early on in rookie ball. I think the Jags catch Vandy this week while they are still vulnerable. Mannheim wins 17-13 in the game of the week.
Bayou Bengals vs Bradford Bulldogs - BETA DIV leader vs cellar dweller. SBB are cruising right now after hanging 35 on Vandy in week 2. BB has struggled to score points this season and now they are facing a very tough Bengals D who are giving up less than a TD per game. Not much to write home about in this game. Bengals win easily 35-0
Tuxedo Dinosaurs vs Colorado High - Colorado has a full roster including a S* WR. I do really like the Dino's name better than any other team in our league so that makes it tough to pick against them. CH is the only team in Gamma with a full roster and they should end up with a decent record because of that. I am picking them here and vs GAMMA the rest of the season until anyone else in GAMMA can put something together. CH wins 20-7
Jax Wolves vs Norfolk Tides - Two teams made up of nearly all CPU. Jax has a QB and HB on low contracts and they will fumble the game away for them. NT wins 17-13
