I have a new casual team with a high percentage of CPU players.

I have set as best i can the Off and Def line-ups to make best use of human players.

With the ST's, i have also selected the most appropriate CPU players (my team came with a horde of K's and P's...) for ST's and back-ups.

Now that i have the right positions, i am wondering if i will have to select each ST position or will the casual AI place the CPU players in the right spots?

There's 3 ways you can address the situation. #1 is to place your depth charts as best you can with your CPU dots. This is a little harder than normal because you cannot see the skill levels of the CPU dots. But you can give a good educated guess as to what archetypes carry which skill sets and at what levels. #2, is to simply fill the KOS and KRS slots with CPU dots and the AI will place those dots where it deems fit. Not always in the most advantageous positions... but it will at least use those dots first before using any others (when stamina issues occur). Or, #3, leave the depth chart blank and the AI will place the freshest dots in based on your stamina settings. If you want a good idea as to who the AI will place where, the names listed at the top of the selection on the depth chart are those that the AI will generally seek when filling any empty position.

Hope this helps you.

Some, thank you.

Is the AI so weak as to place, for example, a CB at an interior blocking position instead of a Lineman (assuming an ideal stamina/energy situation)?

I believe i have recruited the correct CPU blockers/gunners/tacklers. I just wonder if the AI might assign incorrectly.

The AI, if left completely to it's own (meaning you put nobody anywhere on the ST depth chart), will select according to what IT considers the correct dot for that position. You can get an idea what the AI will choose by looking at the top names when you're in the 'Depth Chart' page. For example... when you look at the LT position on Punt teams... you'll see the names at the top are all OT's. Makes sense to the AI... but not to the human. Those OT's will be trying to run down the field after the punt and make tackles. I don't think that... unless they're STOP dots... they'll do a very good job. Since you're talking about CPU dots... then you won't have any CPU STOPS because GLB doesn't allow that. So you'll have an offensive dot playing in a defensive formation... according to the AI's point of view.
If you fill the KOS and KRS slots, I believe the AI will attempt to choose from those before selecting any other dot. I have to admit I'm guessing here as I've never used those myself except during the Preseason... when I'm still trying to figure out who goes where. Your absolute best bet is to fill the depth chart yourself. That way you KNOW that you have the dot you want in the place you want it. Most good OC's and DC's and the like will tell you never trust the AI to do the right thing for you. It will... but it cannot be totally reliable to do it consistently.
