I know I saw a thread on this way back, but what is the equation which determines a SS contract? Their were a few teams that had gone over the cap and didnt adjust their roster at all from Rookie to Sophomore? I know the SS's account for a much larger amount, but doesn t that become higher once you level up?

Bort said in a thread that if you are under the cap in rookie and make no changes, youll be under the cap in sophomore

I remember reading that quote, but it isn't true.
I was under the cap at Sophomore but over the cap when it rolled over to Seasoned; I had to cut a player to accommodate.

Didn't you have rookie S*s though who rolled over to sophomore.
I'm guessing that is the exception to the rule as such.
If all your players are of the correct tier level as such. When roll over happens you will be ok

Yes, 2 of my players were Rookie going into Sophomore.

this qoute only applies if all players are from the same year
and aparently that's not even limited to that, but they never commented on why pure same year teams suddenly got over limit

I think the reasoning was since SS players have more SP because of the 20%decrease they receive, thus their cap's are 150%. So even when they raise the cap in sophomore, the SS are still 150% to that cap raise.....Am I making any sense?? I think I just confused myself....lol.
I did notice a few teams that had numerous SS players, but were a level lower then the league standard...EX Sophomores in Seasoned

You're in for some long, hard maths!

I don't think you will be able to house that many. You will have to have a slim slim roster or have some low contracts which hurts you. Curious to see if you pull it off.

This is the best way to handle for salary cap, but if you have same level S* it eats away the cash huge like.

- I will have a DT and OT, which are cheap
- I will not have a QB SS
My SSs will be:
HB, WR, OT, DT, DE, DE, OLB
So I might be able to get away with it. I am also prepared to only sign 42 players.

For the most part if everyone is of the same tier, you will be fine going year to year. There are some rounding issues with salaries that may boost or decrease the cap charge by a 1% or so, but unless you're right against the cap, you won't notice this.
