Okay, so it's pretty universal that nobody likes this off day nonsense. So let's do something with it.

Let teams create a "challenge list" of 5 teams who are within 10 places up or down on the ladder (20 team spread) and each place set by priority. So the top team on your list will be the team the game will try the hardest to match you up with. Have the sim start picking by ladder rank so the highest ranked teams sort of get first pick.

For example:

Let's say DD (#1 team) puts OG GLB in the number one spot on their list (because beating bhall is funzorz)
First game set is therefore DD vs OG GLB
Then Tampa also had OG GLB at the top of their list, but they've already been taken. Next on their list is New Jersey, so that's who they play.
New Jersey is #3, but they're already in a game, so matchmaker moves on to #4, Maine Snails
Maine is feeling kinda lazy and is looking for an easy game even though it could hurt their ELO, so they've put Alpine at the top of their list, and that's who they get.
OG GLB gets skipped because they're already in a game.
#6 Sunday Funday's list was OG GLB, DD, Tampa, Maine, New Jersey. All those teams have games, so they get paired up with the next highest unpaired team, #7 Providence Radicals.
And so on.

Now as they are real games against quality opponents, the Ladder Challenge should count for both ELO and SP's. This will both accelerate player development and raise the overall points possible, but I'm okay with that as it's much more fun watching players who are skilled than players who live and die on RNG. The higher cap also provides a bit of incentive to actually buy those career boosters since you'll want to see your studs stick around to actually use those skills they've gotten.

The hilarious part about this is that we are trusting the same people who designed our HoF system (lol) and Ladder rankings system (lol) to make that feature entertaining, preferably all season.

...

jokes on us I guess

Unless these are free tourneys, I'm not that keen on that idea The idea of having to pay flex for the base part of the game is very blech.

I like it. I'm already starting to burn out from DCing teams with the day off.

For the second straight thread I agree with jampy . I like the day off. For those of us with jobs and family we really need a day off where the small window of glb time can be dedicated to watching game film and such.
