Just curious why the Knights have a magic number of 4? They have lost to the Bears and Kings, have defeated the Bulls (who are ranked ahead of them) and have not played the Tanks yet. Just assuming a typo since the other 3 teams tied at 8-2 all have magic numbers of 3. Maybe I missed something.

It's a variation on the magic numbers used in MLB. Your number shows the combined win/opponent loss you need to stay ahead of the 8th/9th place teams (because they have identical records). It's only one higher because Rockaway hasn't played Helsinki yet.

It's not a system that I've tested thoroughly. I saw it on another league's forum that I'm in and thought it cool to look at now that we're getting nearer the playoffs.

Oh.. and hell of a game today. Good luck with the rest of the season. Maybe we'll get to go at it again in the playoffs.

After thinking about it, you are right McMichael. I edited the first post to reflect changes after today's results. The last statement explains what I had done in error last time.

I was more curious as to why than anything else. Thanks for explaining. Great game Cardinals. Hopefully we will get to get revenge in the playoffs.

Edited after season game #11:

The Zeta conference shaped up a bit. Both conference's top teams clinched playoff spots today. The Vikings, Red Roosters, and Razorbacks are officially out of the playoff hunt now after both #8 Helsinki and #9 Munich won their contests today. (Helsinki holds the tie-breaker edge due to their head-to-head win over Munich.) The number 8 and 9 teams in the Alpha both lost today, keeping the slim hopes for Cherry Valley, Zurich, Paris, and even Tilburg still alive.

(I realized my error in calculating for the Rockaway Knights in that you actually only need to finish ahead of one of the current teams in the 8 & 9 spots to be playoff bound. The numbers now reflect that adjustment.)

with 5 games left, go invaders lol

9 is combined wins and opponent losses. You still have a chance, just means you need some help along the way.

Alpha conference has improved all around since the beginning of the season. If you look at the schedules for the teams aiming for seeds 3-8 are really a toss up. I think Whitechapel and Massillon will most likely end up the 1 and 2.

Special thanks to CaliGaucho for making the WEA2 forum fun to read. I havent been on here as much as I would like, but youll probably hear more from me now that things have kinda slowed down IRL.

whats sad is even if I end my season on a 6 game winning streak(which is possible) I probably still wont make the playoffs
