I wonder just how feasible it would be to create a NFL or NCAA type league, using only legitimate NFL or NCAA team names? Just a thought.
Forum > Suggestions > NCAA or NFL League?
probably be a problem since the NFL and NCAA want money if their names are going to be used in a business of some kind

Well I don't know that they can say too much about it since there are already teams within GLB with both NFL and NCAA names. It would just be a matter of NOT using the NFL trademark or logo.

Completely irrelevant.
Technically, Warrior General Games is supposed to be policing their users to prevent trademark infringement. That means both the City-Mascot combination (ie. you can be the Seattle Sea Serpents or the Denver Seahawks, but you cannot be the Seattle Seahawks) as well as trademarked logos.
However, I suspect that with as small a staff as WGG has, nobody has put a high priority on that, and given just how small potatoes the game really is, the NFL and/or NCAA just hasn't found it yet. But the day they do, Bort will be getting a cease and desist letter and a bunch of teams will have to change their names and logos.

If I remember correctly, it doesn't apply to browser games.... yet. Quickhit actually used to own the browser game trademark contract, since they are no longer in business, no one has the contract, so any browser game can use the teams names and likeness.
