Also think value. You want to maximize your dollar.
A high contract on a superstar LB would likely be very bad use of your dollar. A high contract on a K could be super high value and great use of your dollar, though. You don't have to give as much for that high contract.

Watch your own team, it varies by team and there is evidence who should be on a high in each game.
