The more hours I put between gathering up all of the numbers for Cornerbacks, the more I think it would be cool to do the same kind of thing for linebackers. What suggestions would you give to make my evaluation as meaningful as possible? Should I penalize for missed tackles? Any insight you care to offer, that you think would make my the outcome of my effort more meaningful is welcome. Thanks.

there is 3 types of LB's pass rushing, run stuffing and coverage.

Pass involves sacks hurries and FF on QB, the FF on QB is really a stat i wouldn't put too much value on more like 3X sacks 2X hurries and some kind of cake vs rev cake ratio

run related is a tackle and mstkl relation also a cake vs rev cake relation. FF on HB's and maybe a tackl vs plays ratio

coverage is hard to value in my opinion i know me and jampy got different opinions. the most common is the rec alw vs target ratio thing i don't personally believe it values individual score i only see PD and int as individual score, i also like low target numbers compared to coverage plays but there is no stat for that. Also FF and KL on receivers

well that's just some of my opinion, regarding LB's i think equal value beetween categories is good
hope it helps

Although ffums on a QB are an inflated stat, it still wouldn't be 100% fair to leave it out, some ppl (sophomore LBs atleast) probably have invested in a little power tkl. I know we raised power tkl by like 20+ pts 1 day then the LBs starting ffums like mad.

well if added it should be in pass rushing part i know it's ekstra work but if not done that way FF needs to be under pass rush in general since it's where it's highest. but i also feel that it would be sad to not give credit to people actually FF on HB's and receivers

Just use a similar rating system as the CB thread.

Pass Rushing - Sacks, FF's on QB, Hurries
Pass Coverage - Rec Allw/Target, INT, PD
Run/Screen Coverage - Tackles, TFL, Missed Tackles, FF non QB

I know in my defense at least, the three linebacker types are kept pretty separate and it does some pretty wonky things to their MVP standings. Basically, if you're a pass rushing ROLB, you rock. Otherwise, you suck.

So whatever you come up with prolly needs to balance that out better than the game does.

What would you use to determine which category the LB falls into? My LB has the 3rd most tackles by a LB in his league and 6th most sacks.

If I analyze the same number of players as I did for CBs, that's 250 LBs that I have to determine who they forced to fumble. I'll either need a team to help me, or it's just not feasible. I just couldn't manage it on my own.

was why i commented that for lack of time adding FF to pass rush part may be needed since it's where most are, even though it sadly reduces the run blockers who can FF
