So I went through the top 25 teams on the ladder at this moment and entered the following stats for each of their CBs into a spreadsheet:
Targets, Receptions Allowed, Interceptions, Forced Fumbles, Sacks, Tackles for Loss, and Hurries.
I then sorted the list by percent of receptions allowed (targets / rec all), number of takeaways (ff + int), and penetration (sacks + tfl + .5*hurries). The top fifteen names in each category got assigned points based on their position in the list (15 points for first place, 1 point for 15th). I then added up all of the points and came up with a list of who I believe to be the best (most productive) CBs in the game at the moment. Without further ado, here are the top ten in order, with point totals:
1st. Bobcat Shine (35.5) - Iowa Rogues - Riddler08 (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/18686)
2nd. Bruise “Superstar” CB (31) - TT's Wolfpack of One - Time Trial (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/11829)
3rd. Disco Violante (25) - Sunday Funday - Homage (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/7687)
4th. Bruise CB3 (22.5) - TT's Wolfpack of One - Time Trial (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/11758)
5th. Bruise CB2 (22) - TT's Wolfpack of One - Time Trial (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/11754)
6th. Jimmy Fireoak (19.5) - Annapolis Freedom - Torg (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/11737)

Notes:
- I can't look at every team's CBs. If you'd like me to evaluate your CB and your team is in the top 50 of the ladder, please contact me by PM with a link to your CB. Thank you.
- Ties were given the average number of points awarded to all occupied positions. For example, if there was a tie for 1st and 2nd in a particular field, each player would be awarded 14.5 points. If there were a tie for 7th, 8th, and 9th, each player would receive 8 points.
- Where there were too many ties to fit everyone into the top 15 (for example, the last awardee in the takeaways category who had 2 takeaways and was tied with a bunch of others who also had 2 takeaways) who made the cutoff was determined by lowest %RecAll.
- These are just a preview into what I'm doing. I'll re-tally it at the end of the regular season.
