The West seems to be pretty well set for the playoffs -- maybe a little minor movement in the seedings.

The East has the most options for movement -- with 2 games to go with teams tied for 7th and 8th followed by the #9 team 1 game back.

#2 and #3 (Alpha and Durham) square off for the #2 seed -- A loss by Durham could have them anywhere from 3rd to 5th while a loss by Alpha would likely just fall to 3rd.

#7 OffTopica Forgiveness draws the unenviable task of the undefeated #1 team B.O.S.S
#8 Topeka plays #4 Maniacs

That looks promising for #9 Chuck Norris as they catch the #11 Crocodiles in a 3 game losing streak.


Of course, any gains made in Week 15 may be negated as Week 16 rolls around. Games in the East include:
Durham against #5 Bus Drivers
Topeka against B.O.S.S.
Forgiveness against Channel Four
Chuck Norris against the Maniacs.

Still a bit of ball to be played as the season winds down.

S40 Playoffs - Round 1

West

  69 - 0    S.Florida Killer Pythons def. Los Pollos Hermanos - S. Florida is the team to beat in the West. Los Pollos were champions last season but show mediocrity this season.
  23 - 20    Seattle Wave def. Planet Express - A toss up match though Seattle with a 9 average player level higher (58-49) than Planet being a marginal 3 point favorite is worrysome.
  28 - 8    Woerth Shamrocks def. Zanzibar Zombie Monkies - Woerth went to the finals last season and looks poised to get to the Conference Championships. Zanzibar was once a top threat but they never really seemed to bounce back after last seasons upset against them in the playoffs.
  36 - 15    Carolina Underground def. Shadow Phoenix - Regular season matchup was a close one. Carolina needs to stop the pass to win otherwise this is a toss up.

East

  66 - 0    B. O. S. S. def. Topeka Tiger Sharks - B.O.S.S. blew out Topeka in the final regular season match. A probable repeat of this.
  14 - 11    The Bus Drivers def. Arrowhead Maniacs - Another toss up that could go either way. Arrowhead is a single agent team but looks unsure of end goal of builds. Arrowhead are formidable in some positions but weak in others. Talented managers on The Bus Drivers can find a way to win this one.
  55 - 6    Durham Blue Devils def. OffTopica Forgiveness - Durham is a tough team deserving of top spots in the rankings and I don't see any deity intervention to help OffTopica in this one.
  31 - 9    The LEGION'S Alpha Quadrant def. Heisenberg Full Measures - LEGIONs are a team I feel have shown significant improvement from last season. Heisenberg has achieved the same level as last season and this is the difference.

S40 Playoffs - Round 2

West

  45 - 0 S.Florida Killer Pythons (17-0) def. Planet Express (14-3) - S. Florida demonstrating why they are #1 in the West again to arrive into round 2. Planet Express had an impressive win by exceeding prediction over Seattle to get into round 2. This game will have the top rushing teams, rQBs for that matter, against each other but I fear Planet is too far behind in average levels to be much of a factor.
  21 - 10  Woerth Shamrocks (15-2) def. Carolina Underground (14-3) - A decent matchup here. Woerth are comparable teams to an extent. The difference between the teams is defense. In their regular season matchup, Woerth's defense dominated Carolina's offense attack to a 35-0 victory. Carolina will have to muster up a defense to stop Woerth if they are to continue into the playoffs.

East

  21 - 0 B. O. S. S. (17-0) def. Arrowhead Maniacs (14-3) - B.O.S.S. rolled Topeka to get into round 2 without any problem. They face their first tough challenge against Arrowhead. Arrowhead arrives after a winning a punting contest against The Bus Drivers. Arrowhead will have to find some huge weakness/exploit to gain a foothold into B.O.S.S.'s defense to have a chance. Otherwise, B.O.S.S. will eventually overpower Arrowhead into submission.

  10 - 9 Durham Blue Devils (15-2) def. The LEGION'S Alpha Quadrant (15-2) - A tight one on paper but their regular season matchup saw something different where Durham rushed on LEGION's in a 24-6 win. I believe this outcome will be more on the shoulders of OCs and DCs than on team talent. Durham will likely continue to rush first as has been their strength and LEGION's will have to determine a balance of pass vs rush that will do a better job of keeping Durham's defense on their heels. LEGION's will need to show why they had the #2 rush defense throughout the regular season and stop the Durham rush attack that ran all over them in the regular season matchup.
