I think it would be an awesome idea to add a "Run Out Of Bounds" Tactic to all players who carry the ball often, such as HB, FB, QB, WR, TE - It bugs me beyond belief when my player runs out of bounds because I am a "Every year" type of guy. But it's worse when I see a good cut-back lane for my back to take and he goes out of bounds. This could make Carry Awr. A little more important, as it would take a vision check to find that cutback lane. It could just be a "Often - Sometimes - Never" drop down box. Thoughts?

Sounds logical. I have noticed a few plays where I saw dots run out of bounds when they could have gained at least 3-4 more yards and I thought it was kind of strange.

I'm up for anything that keeps my HB from just running straight out of bounds because a guy is 5 yards away.

Carry style already does this

My HB set on power running rarely runs out of bounds while the one on slippery does all the time.

...Makes sense. Combined with low Carry Awareness that's probably most of the problem.

Ya but bort said on the server somewhere that toughness has some bearing on the decision to run out of bounds when a defender is near.

But doesn't this make elusive better if you really care about clock management inside the two?
(Which I think most of us do)
That seems like a pretty major union tended consequence

Alright I admit I've learned a lot from what's been posted so far, but I don't think carry style should affect it. My HB has 50 Carry Awr. (And I that's pretty high for a Sophomore dot) And I run him on Slippery. He often Jukes out of bounds which bugs me but I can understand it, however when he actually runs out of bounds on purpose it gets on my nerves. I don't want to have to build a power back to keep him from running out of bounds. Although I bet they do, too, it's just less prominent because they don't actually hit the sideline as much.

I finally saw my elusive back yesterday make a move to cut back inside. He isn't real quick yet so he didn't gain much extra yards but I was just happy to see him try. It was after I pumped up carry awr too fwiw.

Depends on what type of offense you run. I like to try and control TOP so I prefer they stay in bounds. Only time I want to stop the clock is with less then 2 minutes left in the half or game and teams are usually passing by then so the HB doesn't see the ball all that often.
