Is it a build issue?

I notice that if CBs aren't running step for step with the WR when the ball is thrown, often times they don't react to it at all...

This is particularly a killer for my more mobile CBs, since they aren't usually running step for step with the CBs... They can turn and run and are fast enough to be a step or 2 ahead of the WR in his route... Is this the sim telling me to slow my CBs down? Or is My 70/70 man awr/cov tech not enough?

nawt enuf. needs 100/100. Joking aside, I've seen it a few times as well and has bugged me to see him in front several times like he's the WR. I wish I knew the exact play I saw it happening though.

Well the wide receivers should obviously have a bit of an advantage because they know how the play is drawn up. I agree though, passing sim always has and still does need improvement. People should be forced to throw short more and deep throws need to be nerfed. Too many games just come down to whose better at playing up-for-grabs

Definitely, but i am just wondering if there is anything that can be done build wise so this doesn't happen.

Doesn't seem like a different build is going to help. In fact what other build could you have for better coverage than high coverage and awareness? I suppose you could have less sprinting but then you run the risk of being behind in the route which might be worse. I think the fact of the matter is (which we've discussed before in other posts), the CB's run the route like they are WRs--with no regard for what the actual WR is doing. They don't seem to regulate their own speed to the WR, or even the ball sometimes. In fact before Corndog's fix they didn't even seem to monitor when the WR broke off completely, let alone when he was just slower. IMO this is the biggest flaw in an otherwise very fun game, but who knows if it can get fixed. It seems like they would have to entirely rethink how they are approaching it. The passing game seems need a major overhaul and is unlikely to get one until GLB3

It's funny, IRL if you said that CB is so good he's running the routes for the WR, that would be a major compliment. In GLB2, however, it's like what the hell, stop it!

Lol so are cover tech and man awareness basically route running and receiver awareness....does it apply to zone as well?

Eh, I wouldn't say running the routes for them would be a compliment, but being with them every single step of the way is. If you know the route, that's just a smart football player, and you can more or less 'predict', instead of react to the WR.

I've always had a problem with GLB not having single man2man coverage be "stay on his inside hip as best as possible, and react to his reactions"

Not sure if that's a coding difficulty, but I wouldn't see it being much different than pursuing a ball carrier (just not trying to tackle him)

Not sure exactly what you mean here, Zone uses Zone awr + cov tech for when someone enters their zone and becomes their assignment.

like when Smooth Operator reduced the chance of Pass Interference calls?

I dunno why they refuse to change something about the whole Pass/Pass Defense stuff...There have been enough suggestions and stuff.

I dont wanna say that passing is that overpowered but the intelligence of CBs is just silly

I find the real problem in the inconsistency of their decision making.

What makes you say that? It took years to go from glb1 to glb2

Because making over corrections based on unfinished builds isn't a desirable solution.

this is a stretch, I just don't see many pure int CBs..

Right now if you don't have deflection (lol all of AGD2D secondary) you're gonna be stuck in the 40-60% recall range.
