Not every play can be good against everything

I got a question for strong and weak fire zones: will the defensive end thats dropping into a hook immediately fall back into a zone or fake blitz and take a step before dropping back? I ask because its important for an overload blitz

I know, just frustrated with all the complaining about the spread rushing attack the last couple days. So I'm gonna make it a point to expose the weaknesses in those plays.

Immediately drop back.

There's no code in place for fake blitzes (yet). The blockers still need to make awareness checks, though.

So what youre saying then is that the OT will not prepare to engage the defensive end, thus not allowing one of the five blitzers to run free? Bummer i wanted some fun plays.

No, not saying that at all lol

At least one guy pretty much always goes free on every play during my testing, then again, the entire line has varying degrees of mediocre awareness.

I guess ill have to test it myself. If the DE is not blitzing then the OT should shift, as well as the rest of the line if they pass awareness checks, to accomodate for the five guys coming in on the right

Yeah, one of my teams seems to pick it up a lot better than the other. One is just a complete collapse every time, while the other usually does "ok".

Mhhhh...im kinda like the Zone plays, but then again DEs have no coverage skills at all, so when there is going to be a pass Play, he wont be able to help a lot?

The idea is that he doesn't have to be that great at pass coverage. Him existing helps "confuse" the QB's reads, and him just being close to receivers helps against their rolls.

Kk, interesting. I guess a DE with high intimidation would help that Second Part a Lot then?prolly yes

Will try those I guess i would like to See more blitz plays with 3 Deep Zones, but thx for those already

Now, I know it's not Defense. Have you guys tried making a pistol offense plays?
