This is the game - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/14383
The opponent would spread me out with 4 wr and then run up the middle. Basic tactic nothing surprising yet on defense the same stupid play was called like 10 times in a row. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/14383/927191 Despite having 4-5 other plays that have man coverage and can be used against the run in the playbook. Plus 14 total plays in the playbook for the 4wr tag. There is no way that the rng picked this play over and over with several other options. This cost us the game. I have no other idea on how this happened other than poor programming. Can anyone offer some insight?

Hard to tell, did you edit your playbook after the game?

Yeah I kinda after that drive went straight to the playbook and removed it. I added the plays I removed and removed the plays I added

Well, for starters you have blitz percentage as between 50 and 100 on most of the inputs, and that's the only blitz play against 4WR, so only that will be favored quite a bit. The 5-6 zone plays will infrequently get called because their percentage ranges between like 0 and 30.

Outside of that, it might be dumb luck. I quickly flipped through the game and saw a couple other plays called against 4WR.

Looks like you also have pretty high inside run percents, boosting that play even higher in the chain.

when you select your 4WR plays it also has a description that says "short" "medium" "long"

Is it possible that you had only one of a specific play type even though you thought you had many plays selected in the group?
It may been doing what you told it when you specified 100% pass long with specific conditions in your Def tactics setup

Sometimes the result you observed is highly desireable

Yeah I'm watching the game now - since I'm the OC for Bonn - and there's several other defenses called. That one was called a lot, likely because of the blitz issue Corndog calls out, and some of it's luck that Cover 4 was called more against the pass plays out of the spread, etc.

I don't think the running from the spread really cost you the game, though - I haven't run the numbers but it sure felt like I was more successful running from other formations. My gut could be off there, though.

Na, his distance inputs look pretty reasonable.

Any chance you can explain how the chain works?

It randomly selects plays that match criteria, or whichever plays most closely match if there's none that completely match.

Ok so if I have the 4-3 Free Fire, 4-3 cover 2 man under, and 4-3 man DE flats in my play book, and these tactics set for the down and distance

pass short 30
Pass medium 20
Run inside 20
Run outside 10
blitz 30

The rest would be 0's

Free fire could be called if the game picks pass short, run inside, or blitz, and not called if the game uses pass medium or run outside. Cover 2 would only called if the game picks a pass medium D, and DE flats would be called only when the game selects outside run. Is that correct?

I know how much each play is called would depend on the other plays in the playbook just trying to make sure if I understand it correctly.
