How is that? It says right in the ? description that the distance includes 7 yards from the LOS for the hold.

How do people who watch football not understand FG distance?

7 yards from the LOS to the hold. +10 yards from the front of the EZ to the back of the EZ. +21 yards from your LOS to the front of the EZ.

21+10+7=38

Just 7? Should be 17.

no idea

but they should just take it back to the GLB 1 style, but they can't do that because we auto punt on 4th and 1,
and if they let us choose to punt or go for it on 4th, no one would ever punt.

FG distances include the extra SEVENTEEN yards the placeholder lines up from the goal post.

Why don't you just admit you were wrong and thank these guys for helping you understand how to calculate field goal distance. If you need help understanding punting distance I'm sure they can help you as well but stop writing obscenities in anger and just ask normal questions.
