Was all typed up really awesome, and then I accidentally hit the refresh button switching between tabs. Too pissed to do it again
Here's some quick and dirty power rankings though.
1. Air Raid (+1)
- My own team. Continues to roll. Defense looking better every week and starting to match the offense. Big game next week against Atlantic.
2. Philadelphia Firefighters (-1)
- Philly's defense remains stout, but the offense isn't as explosive as the week 1 blowout might have indicated. Detriot pressed them pretty good.
3. Atlantic Tridents (+1)
- That's a good win to take control of the division. Defense was astounding. Gave up 118 yards? Wow. Top 15 in ladder too. Exciting matchup with Air Raid coming up next!
4. LUElinks LUEshis (+2)
- These guys are figuring some things out on offense. Other than giving up the highlight of the week on defense (61 yard rushing TD), they were on track for a sub 200 yards allowed game.
5. DEFCON 1 (-2)
- It's hard to punish them for losing to Air Raid, but a blowout is a blowout, and the other two ahead of them looked better this week.
6. Orlando Crushers (+3)
- Has now won 2 games, and looked alright doing it. Clearly got some talent/coaching infusion following that week 1 drubbing by Philly. I bet that game is much closer next time around.
7. Fayetville Tarheels (0)
- Lost this week, and hasn't yet won a game. But two ties and 16 points this week at least show they've got a pulse, which is better than can be said for the folks following them to this point.
---------- Playoff Aspirations likely done below this line ----------------
8. Sacramento Billy Goats +4)
- You win a game 17-0 and you deserve to climb up off the mat! Still, they're inactive owner status. That's not going to help them going forward as other teams figure out playcalling.
9. Texas City Stings (-4)
- I admit I was wrong. This team should be better. I still think the owner/operator will get some things figured out. The potential here is better than it is for other teams, but 0-3 is a hell of a hole to climb out from.
10. Detroit Revelers (+1)
- You don't play a top rated team that closely and not gain some ground. Maybe these guys got a similar infusion of talent/coaching like Orlando?
11. Asau Pirates (-1)
- Atlantic is very good, but the body of work preceding the bad shutout loss wasn't sparkling either.
12. Santa Fe Thunder(-4)
- At some point you've got to score points. They've scored 3 on the season, and that was in a week 1 3 - 0 win over a Reveler's team that's clearly improved since. This team is really struggling.
