I believe the Avg Rank that is provided on the league pages tells a very small portion of the story, and it is far less telling than the the # of teams in each quartile. It might be nice to have each the number of teams that qualify for each quartile as well as Avg Rank. They both tell stories, they are just authors. Of course, conversations like this always lead to where in the analysis do you stop then? I don't know that I have a good answer for that, but I do know that with just adding a minimum amount of data and very little work in analysis you can easily provide much more information at a glance. I know this information can be found pretty easily, but it would be annoying to pull it daily on my own when it can simply be written into the game. Further, this could be something that is more dynamically written within the game rather than a data pull can be.
It may also be more telling to make these numbers based off of tier rankings right at the moment until the elo system cleans up after a few seasons. However, I don't know that it is worth while to build a short term help for now when eventually it will clean itself up anyway.
