Is there anyway that I can drop this and try to be recruited by another team? I'm really annoyed by this.

If not, when can I drop this zero team?

Thanks.

Probs stuck for the season. Try contacting the owner and ask him to get back to you next time he logs. Other than that I guess you can just look at like you're just getting exp and building your character so you can put him on the market next season

If the owner is inactive the team is basically a CPU team, which means that any team can offer you contracts and you can accept them without having to get out of your current deal.

Oh is this new? How long a time constitutes "inactive"

How can I put myself out there to be potentially contacted?

There's a bug that prevents you from retiring your player or putting up an ad in the marketplace (or, at least, there was this bug last time I was in your situation, 2 weeks ago), but right now, someone else could sign your player if they had roster space and interest.

Or if you can just find a good samaritan with cap/roster space to sign and cut you so that you can find a different team.

Tbh after you get him into free agency I'd retire him and make an "experienced" player or he'll always be 2-3 games behind everyone else in his class

Also true. But I'm at 43 on both teams I GM.

What do you guys mean, make him an "experienced" player by retiring him? How will he still play?

So, you get XP for playing games. Right now, teams have all played 3-4 games, so your guy is "behind" the rest of the rookie class, and will be one of the worse guys on the field just because he's new.

If you retire him, and then re-make him (he can still be free, you always have 1 free player available), with the check box for "Experienced Player" checked off, he'll have 4 games worth of XP, catching him up to the rest of the players in the rookie class. It will cost 4 games of actual playing at the end of his career, though (since the game will act like he played those first 4, just with no stats).

I was under the impression that a player gets XP for just being under contract. Is this not true?
