What if a regular talent could develop into a superstar over time?

This would not be as powerful as the normal Superstar Players we have now but merely a toned down version of it that would need to be earned through player performance.

Examples of earned performance could be awards won, consecutive seasons as a league leader, MVP's won etc.. the developers would need to decide what factors would qualify a player to become an Emerged Superstar Player. This would also need to be looked at possible exploits by teams to force these results (everything is potentially exploitable as we have seen) it could work similar to endorsements back in GLB1

Example of benefits gained:

Player could get benefits such as this when gaining the Emerged Superstar Status:

+1 extra ability point for his career
+5,000 extra skill points for his career
+5 MAX to all skills with a -5% cheaper cost applied to all skills from this point on till his career ends.
+50% increased player salary drawback

There would also be a limit to the amount of emerged superstars per user account similar to the limit on regular superstar players.

Emerged superstars could be reflected by a different color star perhaps a silver star instead of a gold one used for regular superstar players.

I think this is viable and gives regular players a chance to become better by accomplishing game specific objectives keep in mind if regular players can achieve such accomplishments when competing against regular superstar players in these categories and coming out on top i feel they should be rewarded.

Thanks for your consideration.

Would just encourage networks to spam players repeatedly to make them a mini-star then consolidate them to a team.

ok so maybe limit the amount of emerged superstars per team as well, keep in mind there are salary increases to consider as well a team would not be able to afford too many of these players plus the regular superstars as well.

So we don't want people making players?

Edit - Also, re: consolidating them all into a team, isn't that why we have a salary cap?

Not sure what padding stats has to do with making players, but alright.

This would be hard to add without making it exploitable. But what if that status also came with a multi-year contract and the benefits went away if you changed teams? That way it's kind of like a certain player getting comfortable with the city, fans, coaches, teammates and scheme, but he has to re-earn that status all over again on a different team. A team, but not league, superstar. It'd be hard to do because then people would just spam one guy to get him the emerging status, then on to the next one.

Padding a players stats being beneficial is pretty much always going to be a bad idea, unless there's so many limits that there's no tangible benefit, and then it becomes a pointless feature.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood what you meant when you said spam players repeatedly.

Agreed. That'd rule out earning the status through performance, it'd have to be random. But then every team would have to get one at the same time and people would complain about which guy or position it was and then if they went inactive and yadda yadda.

Basically, suggestions need to be small improvements on current game assets. Anything totally new is a no-no when there aren't people just waiting for things to work on to add into the game.

The best possible thing would be some way to 'upgrade' your traits to do this. Slow Build (+10 to skills, + Cost) and make it to drop the plus to cost. Make it cost like.. an SA or something. Not an awful idea, Not sure how feasible though

To solve the team change issue, just amplify the effect of chemistry on this type of star, and make it build more slowly. Low chemistry has a negative impact, high chemistry allows full potential.
