Now that we're a little over halfway through the season I figured it would be fun to do some playoff projections!
Starting with the West
1 Seed: Epic Holiday
-They have been very strong all season putting up nice wins against Short Bus, Cocks, Bears, and Jonesboro. Realistically I can only see them losing one more game this season so I think they can hold on to this number 1 spot.
2 Seed: Straight Cocks Homie
-This one was very tough to pick because a lot of teams in the West are sitting at 1-2 losses right now. The Cocks have had some nice wins over Chicago and Crib the last few weeks giving them the edge over those two. If the Cocks can win this next game against Short Bus then I think they are a lock for the 2 seed.
3 Seed: Crib Midgets
-This seed is really a toss up between Crib and Chicago. These two teams face off in their next game which will likely be the deciding factor on who gets the 3 seed. The reason I put Crib here right now is because they only have Chicago and Short Bus left. Chicago still has Crib, Short Bus, and East-West. This is a seeding spot that you will definitely want to pay attention to as the season plays out.
4 Seed: Chicago 85' Bears
-Since the 3 seed went to Crib this is pretty much just a default seeding for Chicago. The only way Chicago could lose this spot is if they lose to both Short Bus and Crib. Next weeks game is huge for this Bears team.
5 Seed: Short Bus Window Lickers
-They have been very good all season even with LE going away from his usual pass first teams. If this team can win at least one of its 3 tough match-ups left then I think they will take the 5 seed this season. We are all still wondering, will LE boost the rest of his team?
6 Seed: Sons of Anarchy
-This seeding slot will be between East-West and SoA. I don't really like to seed my own teams that high so that I can come back to this thread and claim I wanted to be a low seed at the end of the season. If SoA can take care of East-West in a few weeks then they are a lock for the 6 seed.
7 Seed: East-West and Down Under
-They have played pretty well all season but they haven't really faced too many quality opponents. In their only two match-ups vs top teams this season they have lost. If East-West can pull the game out against SoA and beat one of their last 3 top opponents then they might make a run at the 6 seed.
8 Seed: Jonesboro Redbirds
-This one will be a battle to the finish. This is pretty much a 3 way race right now between Manila, OffTopica, and Jonesboro. The reason I give Jonesboro the edge here is because, outside of OffTopica, they only have 2 tough games left this season. OffTopica still has 3 tough games outside of their matchup with Jonesboro. This will be another spot you will want to play close attention to as the season progresses.
West Playoff Matchups:
1 Epic Holiday vs 8 Jonesboro Redbirds
2 Straight Cocks Homie vs 7 East-West and Down Under
3 Crib Midgets vs 6 Sons of Anarchy
4 Chicago 85' Bears vs 5 Short Bus Window Lickers
Now for the East
1 Seed: Fighting Gamecocks
-I'm giving the edge to the Gamecocks here just based off their schedule for the rest of this season. They have already made it through Subversive and All Pro hasn't. I think this spot will end up being determined by who wins in their head to head matchup as I don't see either of these two teams losing any other games this season.
2 Seed: All Pro Falcons
-This is another default seeding going to All Pro. They could easily be in that top seed spot but because of their schedule I'm putting them at the 2 seed. We all pretty much know that this will come down to the FG v All Pro game.
3 Seed: Subversive Education
-I only see Subversive losing one more game this season and there really isn't a team in the eastern conference that could potentially catch them. No offence to the Psychopaths but I don't really believe their success is sustainable with their schedule. Subversive has been a great team thus far.
4 Seed: TazVikes Nordica
-I don't see this team losing any more games this season. They have made it through all their really tough games and are now going to be able to coast through the back stretch of their schedule. This will be a top team come playoff time.
5 Seed: Dotball Fairy Pirates
-This was a very tough decision between this team and Requiem. I actually see both Dotball and Requiem being tied at the end of the season record wise and Dotball will win the head to head to take the 5th seed. Dotball still has a few good teams they have to deal with to secure this spot. This will be another close on to watch this season
6 Seed: Requiem Revolver
-They have been a very good team all season but when they've been put up against a good team they've lost. They still have 3 of the toughest teams in the East on their schedule and I don't see them winning any of those games. They should be a better team in the playoffs than they have shown in this regular season.
7 Seed: Friendly City Psychopaths
-It's hard to imagine a 8-1 team dropping all the way down to a 7 seed but I really don't think this team is as good as it has looked so far this season. So far they've only played one really good team and they lost. I see this trend continuing for the rest of the season as they get into the tough part of their schedule. I see this team losing at least 5 of their next 7 games.
8 Seed: Little Ohio State PeeWees
-This one will be another very tight race between OSPW and Rocks & Minerals. I think the end of season schedule slightly favors this boosted OSPW team over unboosted Rocks & Minerals. However, the Minerals do hold the tie breaker over OSPW so in the event these two teams end up tied then Minerals will jump in over OSPW.
West Playoff Matchups:
1 Fighting Gamecocks vs 8 Little Ohio State PeeWees
2 All Pro Falcons vs 7 Friendly City Psychopaths
3 Subversive Education vs 6 Requiem Revolver
4 TazVikes Nordica vs 5 Dotball Fairy Pirates
