Detroit got the lucky draw to take on Alpine in this first game. This is no small task and they will need to pull out every stop and trick in their book to sneak out with a win. There is no history between these 2 teams to take from but Alpine did make it to the playoffs in Season 1 where as Detroit missed out in the final week from being eligible to play. Clearly there is a strong advantage to Alpine when you look at their ladder ranking but that variable has been proven invalid when evaluating that Osprey is a midseason league and got hosed in the ladder spectrum. Alpine has a clear advantage in the lolbars matchup (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/34/297) as well as having high team chemistry. With these 2 combined Alpine will win but Detroit will score late make it look closer than it really was.

Prediction: Alpine 20 - Detroit Foreclosures 14

Tampa Piranhas (0-0) (111) at Sacramento B-Squad (0-0) (150)

Tampa was the Osprey Season 1 champions and have returned the majority of their team while Sacramento has done relatively the same in returning last seasons players. Previously Tampa won against Sacramento in Week 1 but that is not a valid result considering each team was owned by the CPU at the time. Sacramento's biggest issue is that they do not have enough human players to be competitive but we have seen through the Rookie ranks, that doesn't always mean an easy win. Tampa will still need to play well to win this game due to the fact they have some holes on the defensive side of the ball that need to be addressed. According to the lolbars (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/293/294) these 2 teams are evenly matched, but I believe the devil is in the details on roster issues.

Prediction: Tampa Piranhas 17 - Sacramento B-Squad 10

South 'Cooley-High' Rangers (0-0) (142) at Ministry of Dotball (0-0) (110)

Ministry was the front runner last season and was a favorite to make it the championship game but due to a very controversial last minute drive in the playoff game against the champions Tampa Piranhas, the owner decided to fire the whole offensive staff and players and replace them all. Early on this will hurt Ministry but not in this game as you can tell from the lolbars (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/295/298) Ministry is a clear cut favorite. The last meeting between these 2 teams Ministry won 22-0 and this time around I don't see much change to that result.

Prediction: Ministry of Dotball 14 - South 'Cooley-High' Rangers 0

Canton Bulldogs (0-0) (94) at New York Gangsters (0-0) (107)

Canton comes into this league as a new team and upon further investigation seems to be a sister team to the South 'Cooley-High' Rangers. Both rosters are filled out well and the lolbars (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/300/160) show that Canton is not strong in the passing game but are pretty stout in the rushing game. Canton and New York have not played as of yet so like the Alpine game there is not much to pickup here. There have been rumblings in New York of new player development programs that should help the team out this season but until a game is played there is no proof of this rumor.

Rhode Island Aftershocks (0-0) (155) at Texas Toast (0-0) (155)

What a great way to start of the season for both of these teams. Neither team has played a game and are completely wet behind the ears. Upon evaluation of the lolbars (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/358/357) Texas Toast seem to have built up the team this offseason where as Rhode Island are still struggling staffing players. With no history for either team there is not much to pull off of here other than Texas Toast is great to use for making French Toast!

Prediction: Texas Toast 17 - Rhode Island Aftershocks 7

Helmand Provincial Pathan Pansies (0-0) (121) at DeepRoute Allstars (0-0) (118)

Last season both of these teams met up in Week 1 which is no indication of who can win being that both were owned by CPU at the time. Omaha missed the playoffs last year and in whirlwind offseason the owner stepped down and gave the team to the General Manager who basically ran the team last year. This afforded Omaha the luxury of getting new talent and improve where needed. DeepRoute made the playoffs winning their division but where shut down in the first round. DeepRoute kept most of the players from last season and maintained their chemistry where as Omaha did a revamp in adding the necessary talent to win. Unfortunately for Omaha the winning will have to come a little late while they learn to gel together. Looking at the lolbars (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/292/291) Omaha has some areas of concern in the rushing game, but this might be due to the new scheme that was implemented. I foresee this a higher scoring affair where chemistry will ultimately play the deciding factor in this game.

I'm eager to see how Alpine fares in their new home, and with players getting something like 10k+ SP since their last league game it feels like results from Rookie season are out the window and we are basically dealing with a fresh slate.

That said I'm counting on the Alpine defense not to allow that late score you mentioned

very nice write up, cant see much i disagree with. i do think the alpine-detroit game will be alot closer though. just based on detroit's run game and the chemistry on the o line will allow them to not let the game to out of hand.

Working hard, hoping to score more than 1 TD with Rhode Island but we will see.

My Division shaped up better than it looked at the beginning at least.

looks like sacramento has the highest overall rating of all the teams, should be interesting to see what they do this season, they were strong for a while before falling off late last season

A lot closer than one score?

a lot closer then one last score to make it look closer then it is, is what i meant. i think its going to be a tight match that comes down to a last minute score.

Nice Writeup and would agree with Deep route winning the game. However, I think that it will be by a much larger margin until the our chemistry can improve.
