As we enter the last day of our offseason, I decided to breakdown the league and get some arguments going...
Alpha Division
Niger Mambas:
Current human roster size: 26.
Current superstars: 0
New York Firetails
Current human roster size: 41
Current superstars: 0.
San Deigo Marlins
Current human roster size: 0
Current superstars: 0
Colorado 14'ers
Current human roster size: 39
Current superstars: 3 (G, DT, K)
Alpha Summary
Colorado's done a nice job recruiting, and seems to be one of the rookie teams that will rise relatively high in the ladder rankings once they close out their roster. New York also looks nice, but the lack of superstars could be an issue for them. Niger's trying, but I'm not sure if they can fill a roster in time to make a meaningful impact.
Prediction
Colorado takes the division, Firetails a strong contender for the wildcard spot, Niger in a distant third.
Beta Division
Seattle See Hawks
Current human roster size: 43
Current superstars: 0
Richmond Redskins
Current human roster size: 21
Current superstars: 0
Colorado Spring Turtles
Current human roster size: 0
Current superstars: 0
Los Cabos Sharks
Current human roster size: 10
Current superstars: 0
Beta Summary
Seattle's got a full roster and has a decent record in their scrims. Should be a nice team. Richmond's making an effort and has also won a good chunk of scrims. Colorado is CPU, and Los Cabos is having a tough time recruiting.
Prediction
Seattle walks to a division crown. Richmond and Los Cabos sign a chunk of real players and fight it out, both finishing around .500. Colorado doesn't do much.
Gamma Division
Montana Vampires
Current human roster size: 0
Current superstars: 0
Tulsa Blaze
Current human roster size: 0
Current superstars: 0
The Band Of The Red Hand
Current human roster size: 38
Current superstars: 2 (WR, DE)
Cincinnati Jungle Cats
Current human roster size: 0
Current superstars: 0
Gamma Summary
Lolgamma? Only the Band has any human players. Cincinnati has had some scrims at least, but lost them all.
Prediction
If the Band doesn't win Gamma, something really strange is going on. Cincinnati second?
Playoffs
Round 1 - Colorado vs Seattle
I think these two take second and third seeds because their divisions are harder. I give an edge to Colorado in this one, though - they have not just superstars, but superstars from Stobie (long time mod) and Pallow (admin), along with a lot of players from longtime top agents. Seattle is good (some nice, recognizable names on there, too), but I think Colorado pulls it out by about 3 points.
Round 1 - Band vs New York
Firetails will have one advantage going in this one - their defensive coordinator can see most of our builds and knows our tactics! I predict WR Aj Jensen will have a terrible game and drop the game winning TD pass in a Firetail win under severe protest to all dotball governing bodies.
Finals
Colorado vs New York (Round 3)
These teams will know each other well. I gave Colorado the division, but I think New York figures them out in this one and walks away with the Venus cup.
