Since this seems to be a difficult area to implement, I figured we could help the dev team out. True, there are many other bugs and a few other worthwhile suggestions, but I think we can all agree this is a part of the game that a few people really enjoy, but nobody hates - so it should only add to the quality of the game.
I'm not sure how it goes now, but I think achievements should also keep track of how many times the agent has completed each achievement. It could have "x15" in the bottom right hand corner of the gold achievement block to denote multiples. Then, that achievement is clickable and it brings up which players earned that achievement, on which team, in what season, and which game if applicable.
Not everyone is going to be a top team, so there needs to be achievements for teams that are specialized, balanced, don't make the playoffs one season, never sign a superstar, etc. to earn also.
I'll just start putting down some team achievements right now. I'm sure others have plenty of ideas for achievements and can put those down here too to keep it all in one thread.
TEAM
-Winning the League Championship game
-Undefeated in your division one season
-Undefeated outside of your division one season
-Undefeated one season
-Ever being ranked in the top 10 on the ladder
-Ever being ranked in the top 3 on the ladder
-Top 5 team in your tier (based on overall ladder rank) at the end of the season (include tier name)
-Most ladder wins in your league one season
-3/4? shutouts against league opponents in one season
-3/4? shutouts against ladder opponents in one season
-highest scoring offense in the league one season
-lowest scoring defense in the league one season
-most passing yards in the league one season
-most rushing yards in the league one season
-most return yards in the league in one season
-most pancakes+reverse pancakes on the league one season
-fewest passing yards allowed in the league one season
-fewest rushing yards allowed in the league one season
-fewest return yards allowed in the league one season
-fewest pancaked+reverse pancaked in the league one season
-force 30 turnovers in one season
-give up less than 15 turnovers one season
-Make the playoffs
-Win two OT games in one season
-Cap management, within 98%? of cap most games of the season - not sure how to put this one. But an achievement that encourages spending all your cap space, since there is only a negative to not doing so, to increase competition.
-All coaching positions filled (not counting assistants)(achievement for the staff and owners to encourage signing, using, and working with other coaches)(must maintain one of the qualifying coaching position for 60% of season, to prevent swapping out just to get achievement)
-All players at 100 chemistry for a complete season
-Win 10 games in a row (ladder+league)
-10 league wins within 7 points in one season
-10 ladder wins within 7 points in one season
-600+ yards total offense in a game
-Under 150 yards allowed on defense in a game
-Score 49+ points in a game
-Score 35+ points 3 games in a row
-Score an offensive, defensive, and ST TD in the same game
And before I forget, it's not a team achievement but I thought I'd put it down here so it doesn't get lost:
INDIVIDUAL
-an achievement for your name showing up on the top 5 plays of the week list(remove shirts vs skins games showing)
-ever being listed in the HOF top 10 HOF overall (a separate one for each off/def/ST)
-ever being listed in the HOF top 5 at your position
-win off MVP in your league
-win def MVP in your league
-win ST MVP in your league
-posted in team forum at least twice? and checked it an average of once every 2/3? days (to encourage team-wide communication)
-an achievements for most [stat] in on your league in one season (most sacks in one season in your league ever(not just you had the most sacks that season, you only get the achievement your broke the league record for that stat), most INTs, most receiving yards, etc.)
^
League records could then be worthwhile and honorable to shoot for when a player is much better than average but can't break into the top 10 HOF or top 5 HOF at his position. You could then check out other league's records at different stats and see how each league differs.
Almost ALL of these HAVE to be retroactive. There is no excuse for boning the first players in the game because the game was released before these achievements were put in. All of the stats are in a DB somewhere so they are able to be verified and applied towards the achievements - no excuses for stiffing the customers!
And the super mini achievements, like 1 PD in a game, 50 receiving yards in a game, 3 tackles in a game need to be gone. Those are practically gimmes that everyone is going to achieve over the course of their career if they see any playing time. Achievements should be displayed with pride. Usually people don't take a lot of pride in something that is common everyone is expected or known to have it. An achievement should be looked at as an accomplishment by your player, a spectacular (not average) showing in a game, an outstanding season, a coveted career. Those things should EARN achievements, not getting a rushing TD one game to get handed another gold box that every other agent also has.
