So a question. If I built a player today (NOT EXPERIENCED) and he doesn't sign with a team until the free agent period then it doesn't matter that he was created in season one does it?

Don't sign a contract, don't check the experienced box, you'll be fine to join a team next season.

Experienced players won't be allowed to be rookies next season?

...kind of? You can't have more experience than the other players in the league. So if you waited until the Rookie league caught up with you, you could join a rookie team then and not lose out on any more games.

You are better off playing Sophemore with the player either underlevelled or by using [insert the method of catching up that the Admins have been talking about] in order to catch up to the rest.

If you are dead set on playing rookie next season, you need a player that has not played in any games (to play on day one) or you need to wait until your player has been caught (X number of games into the season).

You can retire a player that you just made for the flex back*.

* - in some cases.

Well, I'm on the waiting list to get a rookie team next season, and I built every player for the team. But I built all of them as experienced, but didn't sign them to any teams, as I'd read that players that had played any games season 1 wouldn't be able to play as rookies. But I'm gathering that checking the "experienced" box counts as having played a game.
So my best bet then is to scrap all those players, and rebuild them without the experienced box checked?

Correct me if I'm wrong -- I could still build them now, without checking the experienced box, but boost them, and still start next season as rookies?

Building as experienced is akin to actually playing the game(s).

I'm fairly certain you're right about the build non-experienced players and boosting being safe. Boosts are based upon tier so you'll get 2 boosts at rookie. You can use them at any point between level 1 and level 5. They aren't based on season.
