Just created players and will have a team next season. Do I have to put them on a cpu team now to continue training?

If you put them on a CPU team, you won't qualify for the rookie leagues next season...but you also won't be at the level of all the players who just played this season. It's probably best to leave them off any teams and sign with a rookie league team on Jan 28th-ish.

If you create them today, don't sign with a team, can you still play in pickup games?

when is the best day to create players for next season
any day works for creation, just don't make them "experienced" or sign them to a team this season if you want them to play for a new rookie team next season

So am I correct in saying that Sophomore Players or Experienced players cannot play for Rookie teams?

Well, sophomore players definitely can't.
Experienced players can't if they have more XP than a rookie would have if they were created on day 0.

So i could have level zero players that are boosted, and then when next season starts boost them again and sign them to a rookie team?
