We already have a number of owners recruiting for season 2 freshman teams with no guarantee they will be getting a freshman team (they could get one of the current sophomore teams if an owner doesn't renew or is inactive). Additionally , you probably have those who would like to plan/recruit/refer but who cannot do so currently without knowing if they need freshman or sophomore toons.

GLB should really save itself a huge headache on this; otherwise you'll have owners agents e-mailing support saying "I wanted a freshman team and got sophomore one -or- vise versa) and agents who thought they were with one team finding out they need to seek out another.

On the "Buy Team" Page Place A Warning
Warning Should Read:
"The number of teams available is based on the number of players within a current year group, this is to ensure that there are enough active players to fill your team. However, in order to facilitate planning we are providing you this estimate; a large number of current owners renewing or not renewing at the last minute, could change your future placement"

Provide Below This
"You are currently number X on a wait list of X" Based on this position we estimate:"
(With one of four estimates)
1.You Will receive an existing team
2.You are on the bubble and bubble and may receive an existing team or a freshman team
3.You will most likely receive a freshman team
4.You are not likely to be placed with a team for this upcoming season but may receive a team if player demand is higher than anticipated

To Determine the estimate
Estimate By: Conduct Count of Current Teams - (The sum of all owners who have already renewed for next season + Owners whose current renewal is set to automatic) multiplied by your current renewal ratio from GLB1 (This will estimate the number of owners who have not currently renewed and won't but exclude those who already have or are likely to) Add the number of inactives (Teams you already know you need an owner for) Plus .33% of the total count of D-League Players (Estimates D-League players who will need a human home next season adjusting for some inactive rosters being full of inactive players and player fatigue or quitting)

For Each Category give yourself some "leeway" on the guestimation

Multiply The Estimate by .80 and for numbers 1 through that result on the list give them answer 1 above "You are likely to be placed on an existing team" (So If the number from above is say 50 numbers 1-40 would be given response 1 above)

From .80 to 1.2 of the above number say "You are on the bubble and bubble and may receive an existing team or a freshman team" (So 41-60 on the list)

To estimate the number of freshman teams take the current # of active GLB players and multiply by .85 add that to the high estimate from category 2 and tell those future owners You will most likely receive a freshman team (So 60 plus total # of currently active players times .85)

For anyone beyond that answer number 4

I agree with the spirit of this, especially for this specific off season, but the calculations you're doing on the estimate is unneeded:

So for this season, at least, the only category needed is "You will get a team"

Good point probably makes category 4 pointless, though I would say "which level" is still a point up for debate and something that should be looked at. Otherwise your going to have support get all sorts of requests/complaints of "oh I was planning for this and got this instead type deal
