Last game he had two fumbles. He's already at 35 carrying grip though, and his max can only be set to 40.

If it's anything like GLB1, fumbles so early in a career should be unacceptable, because smart players will prioritize physical core stats, such as spd, over something that will occur less frequently, such as causing fumbles.

I suppose I could raise conditioning, but even that's at 28 and can only max at 48. Is there any other attribute that can reduce fumbles? If not, GLB2 needs to nerf the fumbles.

possibly heart to keep morale up - fumbling once makes it more likely to fumble again (I'm guessing)

His max is 50, 65 if you use your cap boosters on it.

That said, you took two attributes to one, of course he is going to have glaring issues in certain aspects.

Smart players in GLB 2 are building balanced players. If they are FF players, part of that balance is putting SP's in Power Tackling.

Oh okay, I forgot about the cap boosters. Well I'll definitely have to invest some pts of that into carrying grip. If he's fumbling like this at rookie level, I hate to see him when he's in the pro scene.

At this point, pumping Heart is probably the best quick fix (according to bhall)

1 strength + 1 confidence = start over, lesson learned.

I don't get it. Why would I want strength when I'm an elusive back? As a slippery back, I want elusiveness so I'm avoiding tacklers. Of course I'm going to set it to 1.

Also, why confidence? I understand its uses, but I'd rather have max productivity out of the stats that matter.

End of the day though, I can't set everything to a good value. Some of my stats have to take a hit. That's basic Dungeons & Dragons 101 and GLB1 protocol.

The problem is, that STR effects your Carrying Grip, thus making you fumble more...Me for instance, did take CG to only 15 so far and i had like 2 fumbles or so in the season. So no worries. I guess you are having bad luck

To be strong enough to avoid fumbles. You seem to be interested in not fumbling so much.

A good D&D DM will make sure you are punished repeatedly for taking a 3 in INT or CHA, though - the D&D equivalent of fumbling. There's a difference between "taking a hit" and "setting to the lowest value possible". Consider a STR of 3 or 4 next time?

There are tradeoffs to trying to take max speed/agility/awareness and dumping strength and confidence. Part of that is you will have trouble holding onto the ball and keeping your morale up (which is completely different in value in GLB2 from what I can tell). These tradeoffs are a good idea, otherwise everyone would have the same starting attributes.

So next time think about maybe taking agility to only 9, or awareness to 8 or 7, or both, and bumping str up a few points. Or be satisfied with your current limitations and build up what the design is for - quickness, sprinting, footwork, elusive running, and see what he turns into as those go to the high maximums you have access to.

I wouldn't pump heart/toughness yet but it certainly wouldn't hurt to throw them a bone here and there.
