Right now we all pretty much know, if you have built your WRs + QB in a somewhat decent fashion, the only in-completions you will have is when your QB overthrows your WR...

Is it too early for CBs to have some kind of pass defensing ability?
Even my CBs with 35+ deflection 25+ vertical have PDd maybe 2 or 3 passes all season.
Question is... Are CB builds too immature to be able to stop the pass? Or is this game as broken in the pass as it looks.

Edit: Congrats to the 19 idiots that downvoted this thread and locked the epic discussion:

I dislike the idea of making any major changes until the first round of players makes it to Veteran level. Doing so could lead to unintended consequences later.

I was but went the route of TT and stuck to lower levels. I was only moderately active, though. I know passing was OP at veteran but I'd like to see if the general GLB population (as opposed to the low number of active testers) finds a viable way to stop the pass before changing the sim.

So because I am an OC struggling to maintain a passing game, and a DC farily adept at preventing one, I thought this was an odd request. So on a whim I looked at the last 7-8 games of Jampy's CB's team . . .

Passing game stats in each of those games

9/28 (32%) for 88 yards
23/37 ((62%) for 211 yards
23/38 (60%) for 222 yards
30/51 (59%) for 362 yards
21/51 (41%) for 217 yards
25/44 (57%) for 221 yards

I'm seeing a passing game that swings from bad to average . . . but nothing overpowered. But maybe that's just against his team, so i went to his league page to see how the QB's were fairing overall . . .

Not a single one has a completion percentage above 55%. Only 6 are above 50%. And of those who are above 50%, not a single one averages more than 162 yards per game.

So, I'm curious where this "overpowered passing game" is . . .

The last thing we need is the band-aid code we saw in Classic. Unless something is horribly broken, make not of issues now, balance the sim for veteran, and then add nerfs/buffs at lower levels as necessary.

I don't agree with this necessarily. I think there are issues with the pass game. Drops are skewing numbers down but that will fix itself soon enough.

People aren't building up their PD rolls right now... they're worried about their coverage skills.

And people who make WR's are seeing all the drops and adjusting their receiving skills instead of their coverage skills.

Do you see how this can become an issue? Perhaps it's a build progression issue that is occurring independent of the sim.

I think there is a definite possibility this is a build progression issue. That's why I'd rather not see adjustments to the sim now. Save adjustments for when builds are rounded out and then adjust lower levels with custom code, if necessary.

Stopping the pass is definitely a pain at the top of the sim. This is an offensive sim.

That being said, I wouldn't advocate for a nerf right now. Pass defense doesn't need to be 'buffed'.

Thats because there are 2 issues happening simultaneously making coverage nearly impossible.

1. The CBs are rarely in position to make a play on the ball... What does this cause? Ppl upping there coverage skills.

2. In the lucky event the CBs are in position to make a play, the Pass defense rolls (int/PD/vert etc.) are way too low to do anything...

If you do not see the problem here I do...

If the CBs can't keep up with them (even against WRs with very very little physical ability), and then when the pass comes in, they can't defend it...

You are looking at some bad, bad shit.

Jampy . . . Please demonstrate with facts how pass defense is broken. Not isolated plays, but empirical evidence that it is over powered.
