GLB1 had it's ups and downs, been over there since season 1. But I think the way it is now, you get what you get. Str HBs dominate. You can make an INT machine CB who misses a ton of tackles, a Blocking TE that gets pancakes but rarely gets a catch, a speed DE that gets sacks but a liability in the run game, a coverage LB that gets steamrolled but can cover, etc. Resetting VAs and advanced OC and DC controls are fun for running a team.

GLB2 comes along, and looks like a simplified, streamline process of building players and running teams. Very easy to distinguish between a power DE vs. Speed DE...blocking TE vs. receiving TE. Scat FB vs. blocking FB, hard hitting SS vs. cover SS...BUT, in creation only.

See, the play on the field in GLB2 does not mimic the way the players are built. I see power SSs not creating a single fumble all season, Blocking TEs leading their team in catches, and strength OTs getting pancaked by speed DEs...also have seen a blocking FB with 4 yards per carry average and gets revcaked more than generating pancakes.

I've also seen non-boosting players, with no points committed to abilities perform better than boosting players.

Right now, except for blitzing/pass rushing DEs and LBs...it feels like we're just spinning our wheels making guys. Adding points to stuff that sounds good...but really just doesn't make a difference.

GLB2 looks good on the surface, but the nuts and bolts just don't seem to be tightened with code. Will keep trying, and adding points to stuff that sounds good...in the hopes it gets fixed.

Half-way through season 1.

How many seasons in GLB1 does it take for a FF dot to force their first fumble?

What this shows is that the difference between 10 points in a skill and 20 points in a skill is not as big as you think.

On the other hand, I notice a huge difference in my specialists:

Pure run blocking O-line gives up pressure on pass plays.

Pure run-stuffing D-line gets put on their ass in pass rush.

Bruisers are starting to break tackles against Ds that haven't made any investment in tackling.

Pass defenders are starting to stick to their man and make the WRs drop due to pressure or make the deflection.

It will still be awhile before the FF builds make their impact because you need speed, tackling technique, tackling power, intimidation, etc.

It will still be awhile before INT builds flourish because they are rarely in position to make the play. Underneath cover zone Defenders who invest in a lot of Zone Awareness, INT, and vertical will probably the first to start seeing progress in the INTs.

As TT pointed out, you're comparing apples to oranges here. You can't expect a player that is roughly 8% complete to be on par with plateau players in GLB Classic. Give it time...

We are 12 times better at end build. Yet people complain about now build.

All the GLB 1 guys that are loling and bitching about GLB 2 are afraid that GLB 1 will die out and they won't have that game to whine about.

I'd say just be patient. None of us really know how everything works yet.

WG is lucky they released this game when they did. I was planning on just leaving GLB1, now at least they are still in the running for my annual big flex purchase. If people leave GLB1 for GLB2, they probably weren't that interested in GLB1 anymore/anyway.

I disagree with OP. My passrush DE gets sacks, sucks against run. My FF SS gets fumbles but misses tackles and lacks in coverage etc etc
