This should be easy. I know we can easily see the plays our dots are in. But why not just make a next play button with a check box that says (only with c player) kind of like when you highlight them for the plays.

I was just thinking about how to do this interface-wise, and came up with this idea:

How bout if when you click the view replay button from the replay log for the player, it marks the player as being "followed," highlights said followed player, and the next/prev play buttons become next play/prev play specifically for the followed player? Also, maybe could add a "follow" button on the bottom player list so you can choose who's being followed from there.

It should be fairly easy to just pull the next play id from the already saved replay log, so it should be possible assuming the interface all makes sense.

Sounds perfect. The highlight player button made it easy to follow your players throughout a play, this would make it easier to follow them throughout a game.

Also adding something from the replay screen makes sense.

The problem with using the prev/next play buttons is if you get into a situation where you want to see the next play no matter what (perhaps 4th & goal on the 1 and your player isn't on the field), there's no easy way to see the play. A separate button is the way to go.

I think it works, at least it feels "right" to me when I use it now. You can just unfollow your player if you really want to see that next play, and then re-follow him on his next play. I think most of the time if you're following a particular player, you're not going to be able to really tell what's going on in the game anyway, since it's jumping around.
