Does anyone know when each skill kicks in for run or pass? Meaning, are pass rush skills only used when the QB has the ball in the pocket or is it determined by the play call? If the offense throws a screen for example and my d-lineman is trying to get past blockers is he using his break run block/hold ground or is he using pass rush skills?

I feel like the one at use on any given play is the counterpart to whatever blocking skill the oline is doing. So if they're pass blocking, d line pass rushing skills kick in, and if the oline is run blocking, d line run rushing skizzils kick in

Maybe they start as one and have to pass a vision check to get to the other, what you said seems much cleaner though.

Screens have always started pass block and ended run block. As far as skill by skill I doubt you are going to get that answer.

Yeah, my guess was that while QB is in the pocket or ball is in the air it's all pass rushing/pass blocking. But if the ball is handed off or once someone catches and starts to run with it, everything switches over to run block/run rush skills. Just looking for a little confirmation. Thanks guys.
That is how screen has been explained in GLB1, I doubt its any different here.
