Sorry - I'm sure this has been mentioned.

I just logged into GLB1 for the first time in a couple years (I think) and my head is spinning - GLB2??

Is there a guide that tells me how this game is different from GLB1?

Nope, this games is less than 2 weeks old, no guides yet.

Biggest differences in GLB2 off the top of my head:

No algs or training, once you create your player you are just putting points in stuff as the maximums and costs are established at creation.

No custom depth chart slots for the offense.

AIs are pre-made, % adjustable, situational stuff not so adjustable.

The dots have been replaced with Tecmo Bowl style players.

Players cost less flex to make but the refund is much smaller.

Leagues and schedules are totally different.

Forum is a little fancier.

Game scores are more realistic........ive always had a problem with a 255 point game.

I was exited when a 0-0 battle ended in a overtime TD ....6-0

Didn't see this had been bumped.

Hiya Stobie!

I was (and am) not a real Mod. For awhile I was on a team of pseudo mods under Catch who essentially followed along with all of Bort's comments (and Catch's) during some of the Q&A sessions they had and copy/pasted everything into a more readable single thread.

In addition - we worked a little on a GLB Wiki - but that never really went anywhere (primarily in my opinion because the game was constantly changing and being tweaked and info could go from magically accurate to horribly outdated over the course of 2 weeks).

So - I never actually had mod duties -- or powers. Just got the title - and they've yet to take it away.

Now that I've been playing GLB2 for awhile - I would add to this "guide":

GLB1 became a game for coordinators. GLB2 is primarily a game for players (but coordinators are still important and incredibly valuable and work very, very hard)

Lots of ways to build a dot - as of today - no one knows much - everyone's opinion is still valid

Offensive and Defensive playbooks are much simpler and have some built in means to avoid running the same play over and over and over

Games are more random - meaning the random number rolls have a bigger impact than they did in GLB where tactics and game planning were king.

Flex goes a long way further here.

The population here is not yet where GLB1 in its hey day was

no training / no equipment / no magic equipment / no random rolls for magic equipment / no stadium building / no pricing for hot dogs

The closest I would say is that GLB2 in its current form is a lot closer to GLB1 seasons 1-3 which I really had fun with.

You can see your SA's fire in the sim replay

It is fun.
