Is this shit broken or wat?

CBs barely PD ever, and WRs catch darn near everything regardless of pressure as long as they have the hands to pull in the catch...
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/837/453530

Its obvious that pressure on the WR means nothing 9 times out of 10 when it comes to stopping the catch
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/1089/460239

So what exactly can a CB do to stop the pass?

At a guess - the "batted down" or deflected messages in the PBP only happen when the defense is alone near the ball. Any contested result with the WR and CB are probably "unable to secure the ball due to nearby defense."

Even then, skills are crappy enough - yes, even at 30, they max out at 100 and everyone is going to be 20-30 on relevant skills - that sometimes you'll get a bad roll and they get a good roll and win. How's your Defensive Consistency? That may help avoid crappy rolls. Also, all three of those defenders already had crap morale for that play - 47, 40, 26(!), which is just going to make it even easier for them to have a crappy play.

So, look for the "unable to secure the ball" messages as a key that your defender was successful, and improve more than just the one key stat, and of course be ready to get RNG'd.

Unable to secure plays are the new standard PD.

You're just used to the old PBP

Pass coverage is tough. No lie. It gets really tough at the upper levels as superstars are added. There are some things I talked with Cdog about. Some different coverage options on defense so that when Superstars do become part of the game you can build gameplans defensively around them if need be. Right now the D plays are pretty limited but it isn't as bad yet cuz we are at the lower levels.

The main difficulty people were having is the insistence of using full man under coverage every play.

That doesn't, and shouldn't, work.

Ya but there still needs to be some more coverage options. Especially for 2 WR against full pass teams. The idea that people are going to be able to sack guys to death to keep the scores down when we get up a couple levels will be pretty much squashed.

I've seen a good amount of PDs especially from SS and FS. If you blitz less you'll see more. You probably have your FS and SS in man coverage during plays because you're blitzing.

And also PD's don't happen tonnes in the real world either. I've see a couple to a few every game so its not as bad as it sounds. Bhall and The Boss sound accurate in defensive coverage and game planning probably play a large role.

Once builds round out more, you'll see a lot of jumping deflections out of the under zones. Vertical isn't that important until your builds are rounded out enough to get in place to see and make the jumping deflections.
