Why is Blitz Awareness a Defense skill, not a Pass Rush skill? Not sure that it actually makes any difference, but it still looks wrong.

The description makes sense for defense. It relates to their speed in reacting to the quarterback's pass or pitch while blitzing, otherwise they'll just keep running after the QB.
Pass blocking awareness determines blitz pick-ups.

It's relative to how well a defensive player reacts to the play while blitzing...

That is what a blitz is, but if he has awareness he may see that it is a run and be able to adjust accordingly. Otherwise he will just go to the qb and stand there if he sees the qb doesn't have the ball.
