we will be adding a "d-league" style setup soon to fill these needs.

Just a thought - would be nice if it was a pickup league. Players can join the league, and at league game time it just makes however many pickup games needed, but marks them special and grants league game xp. No contract, no team assigned to, but you can watch games and get xp.

Make players that teams need. O-Line, D-Line, Secondary, even FBs and TEs. QBs and HBs pretty much oversaturated the market.

This is why I bought a team the first day. Now I have a home for any position I want to try out.
I have made(in order) a LB, WR and DE. Those 3 found teams right away, because there weren't many out there at the time, Make an o-line sprite and you should have offers coming out of your ears.

I spent a few hours yesterday creating an entire offense, the thought being that GLB would create more teams. Once I read that there probably will not be any more teams released, I signed most of my guys to other teams.
First question - once these guys become free agents at the end of season one, am I going to be able to sign them to my team (assuming I get one), or will my new team be capped somehow and only able to sign newly created players?
Question two - I have skill position players with nowhere to play. Other than stats, are they going to lose out on anything even though they have no where to play? Can they just sit in limbo until I get awarded a team?
I was going to make the defense today but figured I better get answers to these questions before proceeding. Thanks!

You can only buy rookie level teams (unless you get a higher level owner to transfer a team to you as a GM or something), so yes, any players you level up now will not be able to sign with a newly created team next season since they will be too high of a level.
However, all players last forever, until they play their allotment of games, whenever that might be. You can have them sit out as long as you want, and they will not age or lose out on anything. They will sit in limbo, waiting for you to sign them to a team and start playing games again. The only issues you might run into is an owner who wants a particular level of player, but if that's the case you can just wait a bit until the rest of the game catches up with them level-wise.
All that being said, I will definitely be adding d-league teams very soon because we are starting to reach critical mass on the player/team ratio and players will need somewhere to play. I would not be totally against adding another couple leagues or so of purchasable teams, but when we created leagues with partial seasons on GLB Classic in season 1, people were really confused as to why they were missing games and the playoff standings from fewer games were a bit lacking, so I'm a bit wary of it.
Edit: it's also possible we might figure out a one-time way to allow wait-listed people to buy some Sophomore teams next season, since it's quite likely there will be others in the similar situation. In the future, though, the plan is to only allow Rookie teams to be bought since 99% of all owners want a new team anyway, and it rewards longer-term ownership.
