Warrior General Games

Well, I don't think anyone knows anything about what's going to happen these first few games. I haven't the foggiest idea what teams are trying to do what yet. I suspect week 1 will be influenced heavily on who fills out their roster. I expect the lolbars are just as lol in GLB2, but it's something. Let's get into it!

Divisional week!

Alpha Division:

South Otto Suppressors (18) vs Gotham City Dark Knights (20)
Both teams filling in a few holes with CPUs for now, but Gotham has the lolbars edge. I'll pick Gotham to win.

Big Bone Lick Dominators (19) vs Burning Up My Flex (20)
Big Bone has a lot more CPU holes than BUMF, and BUMF has the team .jpg edge in the bag here, so BUMF for the win.

Beta Division:

Sons of Anarchy (20) vs Rhode Island Bucks (16)
SoA has a full roster and a custom avatar. RIB has only CPUs, no depth charts, and some default icon. Can lolrookies beat lolcpus? I'll take "yes", or else, you know, lolglb2.

Alpine (21) vs Powers Revolution (19)
Full rosters, fully human on both sides. Alpine has my OTs. I'm not sure if that's a good thing. I think this one is coming down to which QB fumbles the snap the least. I'll use my homer pick here and take Alpine.

Gamma Division:

Engage With Zorp! (19) vs Sunday Funday (20)
Asheme has a team vs Homage and whatje's dotstraveganza (they're still dots to me, I don't care what they look like). I'd like to think the low contracts across the board are going to hurt Zorp here - Funday with the win.

St-Truiden Patriots (21) vs Santiago Benitos (20)
Another set of two teams who look well set to go. If Havoc logged in enough to buy a team, I'm not betting against him until I have to. Benitos to win.

Contracts appear to only control how quickly chemistry grows... considering everyone started at 0 today. It appears we had no advantage over Zorp.

Alpha division - Maybe someone can score next week.
39 fumbles. 2 interception. No points. GLB2 Rookie ball is pretty awful stuff combined with starting with 0 chem.

Beta division - One TD will do it
Both games won with a single TD. SoA put up a dominant performance, although without many points. The CPUs crossed half field for one play, only to be sent right back behind the midfield line on the next play. The only other time they controlled the ball on SoA's half was after a fumble recovery. They managed to pull a 1st and 10 from SoA's 15, but then lost 7 yards on the next 3 plays and missed the 39-yard field goal.
Alpine v Powers was a tough fought game decided by a few miscues. Alpine gave up a turnover early on inside the 10, giving up a chance at an early lead. Powers got to the 16 yard line in the 2nd quarter, but missed the 34-yard field goal. Powers' kicker came back to make FGs from 31 and 40, but lose by the extra point from Alpine's sole TD.

Gamma division - Look, someone who can score a TD and a FG in the same game!
Zorp and Sunday both put up 10 points, sadly while playing each other. A veritable offensive explosion with both teams getting over 300 yards in the air. Zorp had two chances to win this in the 4th Q, but missed on a 26 yard FG attempt and then later fumbled the ball away on the 10 yard line. Sunday was making a strong drive at the end of OT, but only as close to the 21 yard line before losing 6 yards on the next few plays and ending up out of FG range, and let the clock wind down for the tie.
Santiago had an absolutely horrible offensive showing in a game they have to feel like they could have won - an early interception at the 15; immediately they get the ball back but can't advance it and miss the 38 yard FG. After that, they never really got close, and so while the Patriots were 1-3 on FGs, it was enough for a 3pt victory.

Yeah, I think you get some +heart, too? And high contracts seem to be broken right now as far as chem recovery, and I think I read that low contracts will end up with a lower cap on your chemistry as well - which is down the road.

Every league needs a cheap owner who's trying to pay off a divorce or something, right?

It was, I lost track of the score! Hopefully when we see each other again late in the season, there will be some more scoring

As long as miked33 is still retired, I don't think you will have the same advantage you had in the previous version. Hahaha
