This is the third time I've tried to get started here since the announcement went up, and it's the third time I've given up mid-process because I have no idea what's going on - my player's stats and increase costs completely fail to line up with the selections I made for during the player creation process and I can't seem to come anywhere near the sort of stat lineup I want. Maybe this fixes itself in a few levels, but I have no way of knowing whether that's the case because there's basically no information out there.

I guess I'll have to come back once the basics have been figured out and there's a tutorial and/or some information out there - right now it feels more like playing chutes and ladders than making any sort of educated choice.

Just getting this out there, really. I can't be the only player slipping through the cracks because the process isn't clearly explained.

You can't document what you don't know. Besides they fired the guy who did the documentation...
and Tuba Samurai doesn't work for a hoagie and 25 flex anymore.

If you need a guide to help you play this game then you might as well not play. Have some fun, do some experimental builds. No one has any idea what works and what doesn't work.

SP Costs = Natural SP Cost plus/minus the SP Cost changes based on your trait selections plus/minus the base cost for the position.

Sprinting is going to cost you a lot more than any other skill because the base cost for that skill is so much higher. So a 5% reduction in SP Cost to sprinting is going to save you a lot more SP than a 5% SP Cost reduction in something like snap awareness, because the SP Cost of Snap awareness is like 4 times lower than the SP cost of Sprinting.

1. Think about what you want your player to be good at.
2. Assign your initial attribute points accordingly.
--->anything power related = strength + confidence
--->anything technique related = agility + awareness
--->anything involving fluid movement = agility
--->anything involving running fast = speed + stamina
3. Decide what you want your player to be good at long term, and assign traits that lower the % cost and increase the max of those skills.
4. Decide the size of your player. Taller means more intimidating but worse balance, heavier means stronger but less athletic.
5. Name your player
6. Pick a skin color
7. Click create.

If your duck ends up in a toaster, you're on your own. If you need more explanationings though, PM me.
