If say 10% of a contract was in the form of a signing bonus, it would give a real world type penalty to over-recruiting and then cutting players. Right now it is pretty consequence free.

I know it would not be popular with most owners, but it would add another layer of strategy and realism.

Salary management is tough enough. In real life they have a better idea of what they are aloud to offer.

I think that is going to be the game for owners, though. How do you put the best team on the field and fit it under the cap? Limited rosters and seemingly an attempt to make morale a bigger part of the game tied to salary.

I would say real life is far worse because of unknowns surrounding injury and decline.

It isn't so bad right now, but once Superstars become a part of the game, that is when salary becomes an issue.

I signed a whole team at medium, then offered high contracts where I could after.

With superstars, I was fielding all mediums and had 34-39 players.
