There are 5 tiers, 25 total levels.
Rookie, Sophomore, Seasoned, Journeyman, Professional.
At level 25 you become a "Veteran" and after your career ends, you become a "Legend."

I'm assuming then it's about 1 season to reach each tier (for ~5 seasons to hit Veteran) and 4 seasons of career boosts to reach the "9 seasons of playtime" number that we are seeing floating around?
Yep. If you play in every game for a season, you will finish exactly 1 tier per season.
You get 1 plateau season (30 league/ladder games at level 25) for free, another season if you use all the SP boosts, and 2 more if you buy the career boosts, for a total of 4 seasons (120 league/ladder games) at lv 25. Scrimmages, tournaments, and playoff games don't count toward your career - only games that award XP.

Have you considered extending plateau? Four seasons seems to be very little? Maybe at an even higher price?
