In testing many people found that carrying a full 43 man roster hurt their team. Too early to see if that holds true but I don't think adding two more spots is necessary.

With no superstars available, salary is not a detriment to choosing high level traits.
Once superstars are on the market, things will change and you won't be affording 45 players anymore.

I'm building like on the test server and I filled my 43 man roster and still have a ton of cap space left.
I was being so careful, but without superstars you really don't need to be.

yep, without the superstars on the team you can definitely fill your roster completely (and maybe offer some high contracts too)

I got most of my team high, and I still have $5,000 left to get myself high!

That is one thing I love about the game. Backups aren't a vital part of the game. It hurts a bit on special teams but I'm sure the game will reach a point that STOPs become a part of the game again.
