Didn't see any threads discussing individual positions .... I wanted to create a thread discussing WR build, and how this actually works. I am sure several people are in the same boat I am in, and quite confused on what to do first. So have other people boosted right away? How does boosting actually work? Do we have to buy new flex, or does our GLB flexies carry over? Let's get some discussion going, so we don't all mess up our builds.

Now I just need to figure out where to spend the points ..... that will be a learning process as I go. Whats the early thought on this? Is it better to spread SP's, or go heavy on certain attributes early? I know we don't have ALG's, so that takes away the benefit of raising an attribute early. From what I have seen, the most important part to a build, is making sure everything matches towards certain end build? Thanks for any help in advance...

Focus on two skills. You will be good in two thing and not be over looked cause dumped your points on one thing.

2/10/10/6/5/2 ..... That's what I went with my 2nd WR. If you still want a WR, he is available. I signed my fist guy already, but made a second, since first guy was free. Send contract over, if you are still looking for WR. .Calvin Johnson.

Has anyone deciding to bring Sprinting to 30+ with their first initial 5000 SP's? I have 2 WR's ... am going two different routes, to see which is better.

1st WR I put SA in Catch in Stride ..... Sort of a balanced disbursement of the SP's, into corresponding attributes. He is a tall speed WR.
Route Tech - 20
Rec Hands - 20
Balance / Conditioning - 15
Quickness / Vertical - 16
Sprinting - 24

2nd WR I put SA in First Step .... Have yet to spend SP's .... also a tall speed WR though. I may go heavy on Sprinting and a few in Route Tech and Rec Hands.

Thoughts??

If you have less than 3 confidence / strength (or anythin really) you are pretty much breaking your DOT, as confirmed on the original forums by testers

your caps for stuff like carries and morale will be way too low / expensive. It's too easy to get Monster Hit or Intimidated now and the penalties are just as bad if not worse than the first game.

I have also read its better to lower certain attributes to start, so you can raise the cap on the important caps. Who cares about a monster hit on a WR, if you can't keep up with him?

Anybody try going 30+ right away with an attribute? Notice good results?

If people don't want to make it public, you could always PM my questions ... just trying to learn as a whole.

I went for a Speedster WR. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/11643

I wasn't part of the testing so I didn't know about low strength penalties, etc.

Anyway, I knocked Strength down to 1 and did Speed 10, Agility 10, Aware 5, Stam 5, Conf 4. Kind of in relation to GLB1 final stats.

All my start SP went into Speed (Sprinting). And I choose Juke as my ability.

We'll see how it goes.

***edited***

Adding his Combine Stats since this is a new game and the tracking may be worthwhile.

60 yard Shuttle: 14.76 sec
20 yard Shuttle: 5.64 sec
Three Cone Drill: 8.22 sec
Broad Jump: 92"
Vertical Jump: 22"
Bench Press: 11 reps
40 yard Dash: 5.73 sec

Skills/SP spend: Sprinting to 30 / 180 points left over

Traits: Speedster, Soft Hands, Slow Built

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 194lbs

****QUES***

I'm pretty sure I made him as short and light as possible. What happened?

I like to have one WR on the team with break away speed and to have the rest be slow and able to hold on to the ball.

Catch in Traffic and Rec. Grip are very important for making plays in coverage, put first you have to be able to catch the ball, which means you also need to be aware that it is coming.

Maybe in no particular order:

Speedsters:

Sprinting, Quickness, Balance, Receiving, Conditioning, Snap Awareness, Footwork, Rec. Awareness, Route Tech

A huge investment in Sprinting will take you out of the range of your QB's arm, resulting in a lot of targets and no receptions.

Possession:

Receiving Hands (the catching one... whatever it is called), Rec. Grip, Catch in Traffic, Balance, Rec. Awareness, Route Tech, Vertical.

Possession WR - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/9695

Build is open. Went for a "balanced" build getting 4 skills at 25 (Rec. Consistency, Rec. Awareness, Catch in Traffic and Vertical)

Seems to be good, for now. When he levels up I'll go for Rec. Hands, since he has 1 or 2 drops per game.

Also made him tall (advantage at outjumping defenders?) and heavy (advantage at fight off defenders?).

We'll see how it turns out...

Str - 2
Conf - 2
Awar - 5
Stam - 6
Quick - 10
Speed - 10

I went First Step as ability .... Brought Speed to 28 and Quickness to 20, just to start with, and also added a couple to Balance (16). I think a few guys on the team went all into Sprinting, so I can adjust quickly if I need to. I guess we will all see as we move forward!
