So there does not appear to be a way to go for it on 4th down or am I missing something?

I can't find where you set that situation? I see there are some options for end of game, etc. What about first quarter 4th and inches - I keep punting.

You don't set the situation. It is mostly trailing by 2 TD's or fourth quarter situations. You only get to choose what plays to run there.

The 4th and inches punts on their side of the field are killing me, I understand not wanting to have something that can be exploited but some more 4th down flexibility might be nice.
Yeah, this part is gonna drive me nuts. My offense in classic banked on picking up the 4th and .5-1.5

More realistic. Teams hardly ever go for 4th down in real life unless they are in need of doing so. Unless that team is super ridic cocky like Pats or Broncos.

Aren't there plenty of studies showing that teams should actually go for it on 4th down more often than they currently do?
Fuck real life. NFL coaches punt on 4th & inches because they'll never get fired for punting on 4th & inches, they'll get no credit at all if they go for it on 4th & inches and make it, and they'll have everyone clamoring for their head if they go for it on 4th & inches and get stuffed. Given the choice between doing the smart thing and doing the safe thing, they always choose safe... even though in the end, doing the "safe" thing just costs themselves wins and causes them to get fired eventually anyway.
We want our ability to go for it on 4th & inches NAO.

i never really liked the whole 4th down thing on GLB1 either. Defenses constantly get stops on 3rd down and are negated by the ease of which a 4th and short is to make. Guys go for it from there own inside 20 yard line ffs.

Not my team, that's where we draw the line in the AI sand. lol
I get what you are saying...it definitely is not what real football is like. From what I've seen so far the TFLs are much more frequent in GLB2 so maybe they let us get our 4th down control and make it as risky as it is in the NFL to go for it where defenses produce a lot more 4th down stops than in GLB1.

Not that I am really into the whole realism thing but i mean I am at the point on GLB1 where I click next play if we get to 3rd and short because I have know exactly how the next 1-2 downs are going to play out even if I get stopped once.

Whats worse is no situation for less than 2 mins tied game in fg range. Our team passed 3 teams and got sacked 3 times putting us out of fg range.
