Seems like kind of a waste. He wasn't built to be great down the road, but you'd think with a +27% effectiveness on a 11 point [favoured] Pump fake on a level 30 something player, up against level 30 something players, you'd see a lot worse fake-outs.

Because it is a favoured SA, I'm wondering if getting it to 15 through CEQ or 17 through AEQ would be more worthwhile than getting the +5% Fake AEQ or the +12% Fake CEQ?

The build won't be terrible because I didn't spend any SP on Pump Fake until after Throwing was finished (still training it obviously) and not until Vision was at 78. He's a few levels back because I had to wait until the season after the normal day 40 creation to build him so that he would be younger (in order to let clever instincts VA fire).

I'm trying to decide if it's worthwhile as a one off during the mixed age Reg. Pro season. Efficiency aside, that's really intriguing to "miss" those boosts to always be behind in age up the promotion ladder.

CI is mostly a waste for your guy (or any guy since it does only go to D280 .... 7 seasons is too short ) ... a dualpurp qb mostly rushing might benefit a bit more ... but of course DP's need all the help they can get ....

your guy is interesting and fairly effective with decent throws so far this season ...... but how much more effective can the fakes be ? ... in the game , weaker defenders are most affected ... solid , physical backs recover quickly ... as fast as DE's are becoming , the younger qb doesn't have time for PF's against good physical teams ...

but for PF QB , I would figure AGI and SPD to be somewhat important ...

Isn't the problem with the VA that it only works against older Dots. I'd think that VA would only have a chance of being worth having in Reg Pro.

Also, isn't agility suppose to be a prime player in fakes?

Depends on who (what position) is doing the faking and which is defending against it. A QB has "fakes" that are most likely tied to his throwing, vision... maybe even confidence and agility as well. But those would be "throwing fakes". DB's defending against such fakes would use their vision to defend against. WR's can use "catch fakes".. probably tied to their catching skill... and, again, DB's would probably use vision to defend against. Running "fakes" most likely use agility... perhaps even carrying skills as their "fake effectiveness".

Yeah, that's why I had to wait until the offseason ended to build him.

I don't know if agility powers the pump fakes in GLB... I thought it was just the # of points in the SA, which is why it was so effective in Pee Wee.

The reason I decided to do it is because the age-based leagues made this such a useless VA.

I can't remember where, or when (Q&A session?) I saw this but I could swear I saw that throwing is the primary skill that fires QB (passing) fakes. I could be wrong though... it's been a long time back.

Pump Fake Skill

By Bort

I've been looking through some games and the pump fake skills seems to be a bit too powerful, so I'll be toning the duration down some tonight for tomorrow's games. Guys getting faked for 15-20 ticks sometimes seems a bit excessive.

Yea, I'd like too see Bort change this one, one or two others that are useless now days also.

"Never give up! Each level of Big Heart reduces all penalties to morale by 5% when trailing by 14 or more points. Big Heart remains active until the score is within 7 points. In addition, each level of Big Hear gives a +.5 morale refill to start the 4th quarter."

I remember the OPed intitial version of this VA. Then it got hit with the nerf hammer, not once, not twice, but three times to end up as the least used VA in all of GLB. I'm guessing more people use Clever Instincts in the one Reg Pro season it has some effect than use Bug Heart in all of GLB now.

If you see it on anyone, they got it when it was good and then went inactive or they retired when it was good.

I ran with Clever Instincts on my QB and WRs in Season 36 when we were in Regional Pro Elite...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4322833

His numbers were not all that impressive that season and I don't remember noticing a big difference on any of my dots. Granted we were under leveled that season with all the Level 79 teams facing us and we still took Silver that season.

That's the thing though. Even if CI works and even IF it works decently, I'm not sure it works well enough to make it better than other VA options. Play calling, the dot's build, and overall quality of opponents have SO much more to do with the overall effectiveness of a QB than most any VA... or even SA for that matter. I mean... the little gimmicks and the boosts you can get from them always help... but some are awesome and way worthy of having while others are just at best.
