***Note*** Due to the holiday I was unable to write a post the last two weeks. The last ranking (1) will be as of the post on week 5.
1. Fighting Gamecocks (2) - So far FGC has had only one close game against AI and everything else has been a blowout. jkid has rolled through the season so far, but will face WE in week 11 in a showdown against powerhouse teams in the East.
2. Whodey's Experiment (1) - In a recent ranking I wrote that WE had lady luck on his side in his victory against AI in week 3. Lady luck was on Birdman's side in week 7 and WE dealt with reality that sometimes the sim isn't very kind. However, this WE team is definitely up to whodey's typical elite status and should prove a top contender. Don't let this previous loss fool you. Even Denver lost one game this year...
3. Brethern Krewe Redbeards (3) - Victories over SBWL, Royal and Hired Guns have proven that this is a solid regular season team. My Redbeards have showed strong, but have played close games against the strong opponents. Hopefully we can stay on top of the close games rather than the other way around.
4. Chicago 85' Bears (4) - So far, Gerr's Bears are undefeated with victories over the Hired Guns and Underdogz. Gerr always puts out a top team in the West and looks to be in contention again for the top seed.
5. Birds Of Prey (7) - On one hand, Birdman has only defeated two solid teams (WE and RR). On the other hand, Birdman has defeated a perennial playoff team in RR and the defending champ in WE. I have no IDEA how good this team will be, but we will definitely know by the end of the year. I'm willing to bet that if you asked Birdman if he knew exactly what kind of team he had on his hands, he would probably tell you he figures he is somewhere between the #1 seed and the #6 seed in the East. I just don't know at this point how good this team will prove to be over time. Week 9 against the TazVikes is the game of the week in my opinion.
6. TazVikes Nordica (5) - Frankly, I think tazmann's team is better than the team ranked above them, but with only one win over a solid team (Week 7 over the Falcons), I couldn't justify putting this squad above Birdman at this point. Week 9 will test this opinion out when the TazVikes face the Birds of Prey.
7. Ultimate Underdogz (9) - Nobody is calling this team an underdog now. Slybert's crew is proving to be the ultimate challenge for the West so far by defeating LE's Window Lickers and almost beating Gerr's Bears. So far nobody has shown the holes in the Underdogz defense and it seems to be one of the best in the league so far.
8. Short Bus Window Lickers (6) - Well, he has only lost twice, but I didn't see a 21 point loss coming down this team's way. LE may lose a game or two now days, but not by a sizable margin. I'm viewing this as just another slow start for SBWL and expect them to be at the top of their game by playoffs.
9. Royal Cocks (8) - Royal seems to be pretty much their normal selves this year. They are definitely better than the average team, but maybe not up to par with the top 3 teams in the West. Royal always has a dynamic offense and should be a real fight for any team in the playoffs.
10. Hired Guns (NR) - There is about 4 teams who deserve to be in this spot (RR, GTS, All Pro and HG), but right now I am going with the Guns. They've beat Royal and GTS which is pretty significant despite three losses. However, if you look at those three losses they came against teams with a combined record of 23-1. The Guns are a dark horse team for me in the West so far.
