This ranking is loosely based on fact and largely based on opinion. Thanks for reading. Please post and comment!
1. Whodey's Experiment (1) - Wow... Talk about a showdown in week 3... This years game went exactly like last year. Whodey won by a last second field goal this year. WE out-gained AI by a little less than 30 yards. Both defenses were solid. Just like last year, WE comes out with the victory, but both teams proved they are excellent and capable of being elite.
2. Fighting Gamecocks (2) - Side note, is Subversive on a down year or is it just the early season competition? Either way, FGC played a solid game and has only allowed one touchdown all year. It seems that S38 has brought another salty FGC squad that will be a contender for a top seed.
3. Short Bus Window Lickers (4) - LE pulled out a nice win against GTS, all be it not the level of performance that I had expected. Apparently LE has adopted a new strategy that leaves him slightly weaker early in the year, which seems kind of scary that he is at 3rd on this ranking and isn't at his best.
4. Brethern Krewe Redbeards (3) - Frankly, if the TazVikes or Bears could claim a decent early season schedule, they would have jumped the Redbeards this week. I was impressed with the performance from Szolnok against my team this week, and also reminded that my team has a long way to grow before being in the upper echelon of teams. The Redbeards beat a Minnesota team to open the year that just isn't the same and has a victory over a perennial good squad in Crib, but I'm not feeling confident so far.
5.TazVikes Nordica (5) - It isn't the TazVikes fault that their opponents have a combined record of 1-8, but it does hinder their ability to climb the ranks. Tazmann always has an amazing offense, and has so far shut out his opponents. Week 4 brings Nordica it's first game against an opponent with a winning record and week 5 bring WE to town.
6. Chicago 85' Bears (6) - Similar to the TazVikes, the Bears have had a weak schedule with their opponents combined record of 2-7, but at least the Bears can claim victory over a team with a winning record. Week 4 brings the Hired Guns to town for an early season show-down of some of the best of the West.
7. All Pro Falcons (7) - AI didn't come away with the win, but similar to last year, he showed that he is capable to win any game at any given time. I expect this squad to be at least a 12 win team again this year.
8. Birds Of Prey (9) - If you are a fan of no/minor boost teams, go watch this week's match-up vs Birdman and RR. This was a really good game and both teams played well accumulating over 300 yards and making a few nice stops. The game was decided when Birdman tackled my rushing QB on the 1 yard line stopping us from getting that needed TD.
9. Hired Guns (NR) - The Guns did take one on the chin in week 1, but I feel comfortable in saying that they are one of the best teams in the West. Oakdad and Kelts transformed their team a few seasons back and have become a true competitor. I expect at least 10-12 wins from this group.
10. Little Ohio State PeeWees (NR) - So far their margin of victory is pretty massive, but their opponents have a combined win/loss record of 1-8. I'm not sure how good this team really is yet, but in the next three weeks they play Subversive, FGC and the Falcons. We will find our really quick if this team is legit or an imposter.
