My personal ranking of the top departing teams.
1. Black Veil Peewee Players
The top spot was between my team or East-West and Down Under. Despite having lost to them in the first game of the season, BVPP went 7-8 in the East, whereas EW/DU went 6-9 in the West. Both teams performed to expectations for the season, but failed to make the cut. So, they're being cut.
2. East-West and Down Under
Reasons above. Coming into the season, this was a rather unknown team. A silver trophy from S36 lies in their trophy case, but everyone knows that success in Silver doesn't promise success in Gold. They'll likely snag another silver trophy, or maybe even gold in PWS.
3. Corrupted Mayors
This team confuses me. They started the season with a 38-42 loss to SBWL, 14-31 loss to the Midgets, 14-35 against the Cocks. All of which are respectable, against fairly skilled teams. But they finish the season with a 0-73 loss against the Hired Guns, a very small win over Offtopica, and a loss to St-Truiden? You're supposed to get better as the season goes on, not worse.
4. Rookietown RAIDERS
Started the season with a win against the Patriots and a win against an ex-Silver 5 team...then dropped 4 straight. Like EW/DU, they were 6-9 in their conference. They could be #3 on this, but on a day that the #3 team tried, RR would be dust. I expect a trophy next season if dreven is back from hunting.
5. Cincinnati Chaos
Neither sliders team held any respectable ground this season, but Chaos did slightly better. At 6-9 in the conference, they're tied with the second highest W/L ratio, minus the first game. He may want to pick up coordinators for his teams going forward.
6. Rock City Reptiles
A team that I feel had slightly less potential than the Raiders, BVPP, and EW/DU. Almost similar to the Mayors. They only lost to Subversive by 11, but only beat the worst human team in the lead by 7. Wat.
7. Cincinnati RedruM
Despite an extra win against a West team in the W column, I'm taking the RedruM over the Patriots. Slider's worse team played close games against teams that would be considered "average" in the East. Their losses are better than the Patriots' wins.
8. St-Truiden Youth Patriots
Six straight losses to start the season. Yikes. 5-10 within their own conference, with a close loss to the Raiders. A close win over LGM and wins over three other lame teams landed the Patriots here in 8th. The only decent win they had was over the Mayors, a team that is completely unpredictable.
Hate or appreciate, either is fine with me.
